Rank the current NFL QBs by tier

I am going to limit this to the top 20 QBs who have played in the league a few years and have something of a track record. That leaves out the RG3s and Cam Newtons of the league.
QB list for each tier is below. Go ahead and rank them. You can also argue for someone to be in a different tier.
Tier 1 (Elite):
1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Drew Brees
4. Peyton Manning
Tier 2:
5. Eli Manning
6. Philip Rivers
7. Ben Rothelisberger
8. Matt Ryan
9. Matt Schaub
10. Tony Romo
Tier 3:
11. Jay Cutler
12. Matt Stafford
13. Joe Flacco
14. Michael Vick
Tier 4:
15. Kevin Kolb
16. Carson Palmer
17. Sam Bradford
18. Mark Sanchez
19. Matt Cassel
20. Tim Tebow

As of rig now, the Mannings needed to be switched.

Eli to 1 and Romo to 3. Looks ok other than that.
And take Tebow off. You can't play two snaps a game and be considered a "QB."

I would bump flacco and Vick down a tier. Agreed other than that

Tony Romo has the 3rd highest career QB rating after Rodgers and Brady in that list. I know he has had his troubles, but his numbers always look good at the end of the year.

LULZ at Sanchez being in the same tier as Stafford
Posted on 10/5/12 at 4:01 pm to rickgrimes
His stats end up ok from a fantasy perspective, I guess. But the guy doesn't produce wins like the rest of the group in tier 2. Maybe I'm just a Romo hater, but he's mid tier 3 for me, easily.

Stafford and Cutler are 100x better than the rest in tier 3 FWIW

I think there should be more tiers, personally, but as it stands I like yours the way it is.

Where's Cam Newton? List sucks, BTW.

I think you are right. I wanted to have 4 originally but went with 3. I struggled with Stafford and didn't really want to lump him with Sanchez and Tebow. I will update the OP. And I will try to rank each QB to make it some fun. Too many people are agreeing with me

How is stafford a 3rd tier?
Posted on 10/5/12 at 4:09 pm to rickgrimes
Tier 1
Tom Brady
Drew Brees
Aaron Rodgers
Tier 2
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Tier 3
Ben Roethlisberger
Phillip Rivers
Matt Ryan
Tony Romo
Matt Schaub
Matt Stafford
Joe Flacco
Jay Cutler
Mike Vick
Then you start getting into the guys too young too evaluate, a bunch of mediocrity, and guys that downright suck.

Ok, but having Romo in the same tier as E. Manning and Big Ben is ridiculous. You can't put a guy who chokes in big games in the same tier as 2 guys who have 2 superbowl rings apiece.

Limited to QBs with three or more years
Tier 1 (Elite) Super Bowl QB - consistently big in crucial moments of big games:
Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Eli Manning
Roethlisberger
Tier 2 (franchise qbs who can be elite with championship):
Matt Ryan
Philip Rivers
Peyton Manning (no longer elite due to age and injury)
Joe Flacco
Tier 3 (good qbs who need alot favorable circumstances to win SB, but it's not out of realm of possibility for the qb and team to get hot in playoffs)
Tony Romo
Alex Smith
Jay Cutler
Matt Stafford
Michael Vick
Tier 4 stop gap qbs - teams will be drafting new talent in near future: .
Kevin Kolb
Carson Palmer
Matt Cassel
Tier 5 = too young to give up on - no offensive support:
Sanchez
Bradford

I fail to see where Matt Schaub falls on this list...

there should be a tier 5: young guys i would rather have over anyone in tier 4. that list should include: luck, RG3, newton, maybe tannehill/ponder/gabbert/locker

Gabbert is clearly not apart of this considering he has never played a good game his whole career.
