How Do I Get LSU Season Tickets?

I've been a member of TAF since joining the collegiate club 9 years ago, and have given $100 or so for each of the 5 years since graduating. I'm now ready to start the process actually buying season tickets but don't know where to start. So here are a few questions:
I don't want to sit in the upper deck - how much do two seats in the lower bowl cost? What sort of TAF rank do I need to be offered said seats?

So you have something like 27 to 30 Philanthropic points? And your TAF Philanthropic ranking is something like in the mid-5000 range?
(This is the kind of information people need to help you, and also, this topic is pretty commonly discussed on the Ticket Exchange.)

20.27 philanthropic points. I just looked at my account - I've done 100/year for the past two, but only 50/year for the previous 3.
TAF Rank 6700 ish.
TAF Rank 6700 ish.

A good place to start would be by giving more $$ each year.

You can get basketball season tickets now. Just sayin.

How much? How many years?
Right now I feel like the guy at the strip club throwing 20's on stage during the first song.

Call the TAF.. talk to them about how much you need to donate in order to be in a relatively good spot. They cannot make any guarantees but can give you a good idea.

Its better to save up and make small annual donations and then lay a big donation down to get the bonus points.

I took my tax refund back in 2007 and donated $1500 to a philantropic project. It sealed the deal. I was like the OP donated since college. Now I have season tickets yet only get to go to 1-2 games a year.

I have 4 in lower bowl.. $900 per ticket tradition fund then face value. Think it was right under $6000 this year

The rule of thumb is - for guys at our level - give the $100 (best point per dollar value), until you can afford to give $5000 in a lump sum.
There is little value in giving higher in the bracket, other than the straight fractional points per $1000. Once you can hit the bottom of the next tier (which is $5000), then you move to that level of giving. From a percentage standpoint the gulf between the 3 point bonus ($100) and the 7 point bonus ($5000) is literally 5000%. The other tiers are only increases of 100% and 150% (from $5k to $10k and from $10k to $25k).
You still get the fractional points (Edited to correct 2 whole points per $1,000), but no additional points between the tier breaks.

If you don't mind my asking, what is your TAF ranking?

That's what I was afraid of.
Guess I'll be buying scalped tickets for a few more years.

Right under 4000.

New season tickets go by your philanthropic points and ranking

It really isn't as bad as everyone's saying.
I've only given $100 per year for 4 years then $500 this last time and I got a parking pass my 2nd year and 1 single season renewable ticket just this year. South endzone 14 rows up from field
Phil pts. 16.8
Phil rank 4532
The hardest thing is getting a parking pass where you want it. This year's cuttoff for 2 tickets side by side was 3100 phil rank. With how much I move in ranking every year. I figure 3-5 more years of giving $500 b4 I can get 2 side by side. Although it may be upper deck.
Most importantly, give money at very beginning of year to get the bonus pts. I give in Jan.

Also, it's not 1pt per $1000, it's 2pts per $1000
So for $500 given in Jan. you get 4 phil pts total. 3 bns pts + 1 pt

This is the issue. I have about 35 points and a ranking around 2,600. I couldn't get 2 season seats side-by-side together in the lower bowl this year. There were several single seats available. Less than 300 tickets came up for renewal (highest renewal rate in history) and they were taken by people above me. I did qualify for 2 new club level south end zone seats in 2014, so I will have those. I've been told there should be 1,000 - 1,500 seats open up in 2014, when the new addition is built, so you may qualify for seats in the lower bowl in 2014. You will probably need to be ranked at or below the 4,000 level. Call TAF and ask how many points will get you to or under 4,000. The TAF reps are great at answering questions. I agree with another poster that contributing $5,000 in one year gets you a significant bump in ranking and points versus donating $1,000 per year for 5 years. Obviously, if you are donating $100 per year now, that may not be possible, but it is the best way to make a significant jump in rankings.
