Meh. I didn't care for it to much as well.

Yeah, kind of slow, but after last week we were due for a letdown.

Every episode can't be a self-contained action movie. This one moved the narrative along pretty nicely.

I didn't think it was boring but it was definitely a change of pace after last weeks.
If they had taken the chip from Saul I probably would have given up on the show. Thank god they pulled a fake out.

Yeah, kind of what I was getting at.

This episode was a letdown. Don't try to justify it just wasn't a great episode.

you told the guy to not justify it as a good episode when he wasnt trying to do that. who's being the tool again?

I wasn't directing it at him. I was saying it in a general statement. You think you so high and mighty but you are a total tool

I'll say it was boring as hell. I kind of want my 30 minutes back of watching Carrie continually being some emotionally distraught brawd. If I wanted to see that I'd go hang out at Reggies on Monday nights.
I understand she is bipolar but this is beyond irritating. I much rather her have been schizophrenic. Would have at least been funny.
Swiss cheese ending for the vest maker. What kind of C+ terrorism outfit is this? Sending Brody to go move him to a safe house in the Gettysburg ghetto? Then trying to save him after been pierced in the gut with no hospital? I just don't get it. He's killed tons of people before. Now he wants a conscious.

I actually enjoyed the episode...

I thought it was a good character development episode. Considering the two main characters are two severely messed up people, it is necessary to show both their highs and their lows.
I do believe it would have been more interesting for Jessica and Mike to have hooked up at the end of the episode and to have Brody sitting outside in the car until Mike left, but then you have to consider how stupid they would have been for putting themselves in the house and in a position to be caught by Brody or the kids. Somebody needs to throw the wife down and take care of her!
My problem is more with the unrealistic expectations that someone who is under consideration as a VP candidate can just disappear off the radar for a day without anyone knowing where he is or what he is doing.
I did like that Saul showed Carrie the video and that he knew enough to show her before the video made it back to the CIA since she would probably never see it otherwise.
My guess is that Jessica is going to start using her knowledge of Brody's faults against him. She set herself up as a strong female character with her speech and she will steal more of the political spotlight from him. Brody will realize that he cannot win the long-game without her help and loyalty, but he will have to put up with a lot of her demands and possibly her renewed infidelity to have her cooperation. Thus, we will see Brody going through conflict with the different desires of his wife and those of Abu Nazir.
The best friend Mike is a mystery. Why was he so interested when Jessica told him that Brody had slept with Carrie? It seemed to be an interest more than just an excuse for him to renew his fling with Jessica.

I think it's because the other marines are on to his shady side. The marine with the beard planted that bug in Mike's ear so now it's going to nag at him.
I actually don't like Sal involving Jessica with that video. Now she's going to be even more psycho obsessive and could seriously damage the CIA's work. She is a loose cannon. I was sad she decided to barf up those pills last night.

She is an annoying character, but in all honesty she has been since the beginning and we should know what we've signed on for by now. She was definitely easier to accept when she was drunk and screwing all weekend so maybe she just needs a man.

Jessica is Brody's wife. Carrie is the CIA Op that is wacko.
Regardless, Brody is moving out and Carrie comes to see him. My intuition tells me that they end up fornicating several more times and she gets Brody to trust her in order to gain more intelligence on Abu-Nazir. Saul will use her as the inside source outside of the CIA (being that he tells Estes no one other than Saul has seen the video). Jessica will end up with Mike and they will somehow run Brody's character full circle and he will end up killing Abu-Nazir to save his own arse in the end.
I don't see how this series goes past this season. It is damn good, but considering the possible outcomes, I just don't see it.

This was a really disappointing episode for me. I mean, they sent their Congressman to pick up an operative who was being watched by the CIA, a Congressman who just saved Nazir's life by dint of being a Congressman and got encryption codes out of a locked CIA safe? And then when the dying man starts moaning and Jessica overhears on the phone, Brody moves closer to muffle his mouth and actually tries to talk on the phone with the microphone about six inches from the moaning man's head, as opposed to simply walking away from him? And then he snaps his neck to make him shut up? Walk away, Brody, walk away! It was an option!
All I can say is thank god that after a gazillion doorbells and knocking, it was Saul the whole time. Who'd athunkit? I for one was disappointed Carrie didn't go out, so she could come home, run a wet rag over her vag, and call it good.
I guess it wasn't just a fluke they sent their crazy ex-CIA agent to Lebanon, the one who's not even good enough to present the findings of her successful mission the next day. They had to invent a reason for her to go, that being she was the only one the CIA's contact would trust. They reused that same reason to justify sending Brody on his mission the very next week.
This show's getting worse with each episode. It's starting to remind of "Sleeper Cell", which had one good season and then a shitty second one and then mercifully was killed.

Agreed. Seems like they are setting it up to end it. I mean, it will get ridiculous if it goes on for another 2 seasons or so
Not many options when they know Brody has turned for sure now

I am NOT advocating this because it would become even more of an unbelievable story, but I can see them having Brody lose out on his bid to be the VP candidate and then use Carrie to try to flip him to become a double-agent. This way they can maintain the "do we trust him or not" story line and Carrie's "is she good enough to do this even though she is mentally ill" story.
While the original plans may have only been for a 1-2 year series, I don't think they will wrap this up in a timely manner after all the awards it won recently. More often than not, they don't know when to end a series on a high note.
