SS: Haprer (but, I'd prefer to use him as a rover type of player because he can't cover shite)

Yeah, I agree with this.

I think we need Harper on the field. Sadly, it is pretty obvious he is one of our more instinctive defenders and is often right around the ball. He is just too slow to be a good SS. If only he we had two good safeties and could play him as a roving LB/3rd safety like we did at times in 09 and 10.

if we're talking after the season...

Harper- kinda 50/50, I'm not nearly as down on him as many. The biggest issue I have is the contract. We do gain some good space by cutting him after this year. It would be a net $11.25mil gain of cap space for 2013/14. -contract details-
Hands of stone is one thing but he just passed the two year anniversary since his last pick.

Jenkins- too cheap to cut, I do like the idea of him as the strong safety though. His last INT was 12/10/10. He still has some slack from me. How GW played him he was never gonna get to the ball. Let's see how he looks by the end of the year in a new scheme.

Ellis & Smithare gone IMO. The trade deadline has been pushed later to Oct. 30 this year. If the team is still tanking I'd love to see them get anything for guys ya know aren't coming back. Vilma is right with these guys but could take a team friendly pay cut- especially if Lofton & him together on the field proves workable and productive.

I gotta see some 100% healthy Hawthorne for a while before having an opinion

I'm very happy with the CBs. Good mix of experience/youth and decent cap position and upside potential. Corey White has been embarrassed but didja expect more from a 5th Rd pick that was at Samford U. (less than 5000) this time last year playing against Elon & Furman? Let's see Greer-PRob-Patrick all healthy with a few games together under their belts before sounding the alarm.

Good news is Spags isn't afraid to play young or inexperienced players.

Hicks and Johnson are getting more and more snaps each week. Galette is a regular out there at DE. Wilson is getting an okay amount of snaps.

We have seen Casillas, and Herring at OLB.

Everyone at our disposal is being played, so whomever proves to be the best will get the playing time.

Who was the LB from the Rams we signed in the offseason that got hurt before the season started?

We need help up front.

Ellis goes unless he re-signs for cheap
Move Smith to Nose Tackel.

If the NFL would not have taken our 1st and 2nd pick last draft we might have some young defensive help developing this season.

As far Smith, Harper, etc..if we can upgrade then let them go. If not stick with them

Add Will Herring to that list. His play on Charles 91 yard run was pathetic.

I lost it on that one.
