It was according to rival.

That part is true. The part about him having no desire to play tackle is not true. That's why it was surprising.

On the short week when Faulk got hurt, sure he was the best option for LT. But since we've had full weeks to prepare someone with more ability and been able to watch Dwora let multiple DEs get into the backfield to molest Mettenberger, how can anyone say he's still the best option.

I've heard scona said repeatedly the staff feels like they've invested too much time into Collins at fricking G to move him. Are you shitting me? Just awful reasoning.

Put your best 5 out there, Josh isn't among them.

I wonder how much they feel they have invested in Mett.

explain away these run plays (and i stopped watching at 12:30 in the 3rd to go puke so there was many more):

14:16 2nd quarter - Josh D pretends he is in a walkthrough and down blocks on the invisible man. #90 Gabe Wright comes right off his shoulder and makes the tackle in the backfield.

8:41 2nd quarter - Josh D pancakes the invisible man. Hilliard tackled for a loss inside the 5 yard line.

7:26 2nd - 3rd and 1. Lemoiner blows JD up in the backfield. Ford has to wait for Copeland to block Lemoiner since JD couldn't be bothered with all that. Ford tackled for no gain. LSU has to punt.

14:07 3rd quarter - Josh D completely whiffs on Lemoiner. Ware is forced to waste 2 seconds juking him in the backfield and bounce outside. Ware tackled for a loss.

12:30 3rd - 3rd and 3. Josh D again destroys an invisible defensive lineman while letting real defensive linemen and linebackers free to tackle Ware for no gain.

None of what I am saying means I think Josh D is the best option we have for this position. I think we should have started Collins there or maybe gotten Alexander significant reps. But you are unnecessarily shitting on him IMO

Exactly what Scarborough said yesterday, plus the that Collins has no desire to play tackle.

If they refuse to address the edge protection issue w/ personel, they'll have to fix it through scheme. Dwoarczyk, a guard working at tackle, will need help as they move forward. South Carolina, for one, has defensive ends as good as ours.

Sounds like he like he should start if he played that well against the invisible man.

Can we get someone over to the Ops building to teach him about a sunk cost?

At this point, I don't care all that much who the replacement is though, because pretty much any way it's shuffled the entire line is improved.

And with a live scrimmage on saturday and what basically amounts to 2 weeks of practice for Florida (with no elite pass ruchers, but still very good DL), now is the optimal time to shuffle. Gives us a few weeks to ramp up to Jadeveon "Mett gon' get raped" Clowney.

If you're Mike Scarborough yes. If not, then no, I think Mike Scarborough made it up.

The first option is Collins. Have you been reading the thread? And please do not come back with the "coaches know best" nonsense. The coaches make mistakes and are making one here.

It's no problem to argue that you think they are going with the best option. To claim they have no option is patently false.

Collins is really not an option because they won't move him. That's like saying Clement is an option at wr
