Ever been to Gainesville, FL?

Me and my buddy are going down to the swamp in October. (both LSU students). Neither of us have ever been. Wondering if anyone has any tips/places to go/nightlife or info about tailgating. We usually have a huge tailgate group but we know no one in Florida and no where to tailgate. Should we just pack an ice-chest and walk around or what?

florida is actually one of my favorite places.....I've always liked how the bars/nightlife/strip are right across the street from the stadium.

I've passed through on my way to Disney....Never been to swamp though I will get around to it eventually

Went there once in the Spurrier era. Not a pleasant experience as far as the game goes. We should have brought earplugs. It was freakin loud in the Swamp then. Maybe not so much now.

Been too long ago for me. Purple Porpoise was the hot spot and had to witnessed the TT jump pass and LSU loss.

Went twice while in undergrad at LSU. It was awful. Swore I'd never go back.

I'll be in Tallahassee. Considering driving down for the game for the hell of it. I'll be alone though :/

Tailgating sucks, cops are dicks, and their fans are mean as f*ck.

I'd bring a bubba keg as well so they can't see what's in it. And don't stumble, ever. The cops are selective with their enforcement: purple/gold only.
It's the worst place to go for an SEC Game. The toothless unwashed come out of central Florida, and they ALL want to fight. We have people at LSU that never went and dont have a degree, but not nearly to the extent of the Florida fan base.
