Gun Safe Dehumidifier?

Just bought a heavy duty gun safe over the weekend and noticed there were 2 or 3 types of dehumidifiers on the shelves to help keep it dry in there. Do these work or just a gimmick? I know its important to keep moisture off of the guns but is it really a problem in these safes? It will be in MS if that makes any difference, so outside humidity can be heavy at times.
I don't mind buying one but I had never heard of it. Any body got any particular type they recommend? They had electric rechargeable, oven rechargeable, etc.

Just get the gun socks with silica made into it.

Put a Goldenrod Dehumidifier in there. They are about 20 bucks and work pretty well.

My dad keeps his safe in our workshop (not climate controlled). I got him a 18" Goldenrod for his birthday or something a year ago. No rust or noticeable moisture so far. They are cheap and seem to work. I got one much larger than what the SQFT calls for because it is not CC.

Just get one of these. Depending on the size of your safe, it's more than enough.

So that's what those things were in the display cases at the Camp Shelby Museum.

If you have higher end shotguns the silicone makes it impossible to refinish stock without completly stripping the wood bare...
