Ware was getting hit as he released the ball which probably pushed it to the left.

I was thinking that also after the play. And for the OP, Landry did the best he could on it besides stopping and diving for it, which still would have been difficult.

I also like that we rolled it out now. Forces defenses to prepare for it just in case we call for it again. Maybe next time make it look like he will pass it and then take off

UF wasn't exactly a pushover the year that occurred....

Just pointing out that regardless who you're playing If they don't expect it Doesn't matter how good they are..

I watched it again this morning. Definitely catchable. Comments about Ware getting hit and that causing the ball to fade are correct, but even with all that, Landry tried to run before he caught it. His reaction said that he should have caught it.

Agree that you wouldn't use it against a better defense (especially not running to the left). It was there as a film builder.

Worked against Auburn the year they won it all. Ware is right handed though so running it to the right is much easier.

Ware did get smoked when he threw it and couldn't get a lot on the pass. Landry could have caught it though, not an easy catch

Yeah, not sure why they didn't let him roll to his right.

As for those saying it wouldn't work against a good defense??? What are y'all talking about? LSU has done nothing out of the no huddle but run toss leads for two years now. That play was two years in the making. It sucks that it didn't hit for a td because it was wide open. I guess some of y'all think that Saban's defeneses are too disciplined for that kind of stuff. Y'all must have been napping when Les busted Nick on a 4th and 1 tight end reverse.

Yes. He had to turn his body more to get set to throw. He would not have had to do this on the right side.

I like it. Will keep the safety from cheating up every time we run that play now against other teams, giving ware less people to have to bulldoze at the line.

Actually having to get set is what made that harder than it should have been. If they ran to the right, he throws on the run like Auburn 10'. They went for it one other time in his career but it wasn't open so he took off(or maybe that was Shep )

Speaking of Shep...you think he'll throw at all this year? Seems like it's been long enough for people to forget he was a QB in high school.

Great play call IMO the only problem was it should of been run to the right. You're asking a lot for a rb to turn his body completely and set his feet to get a really good throw off. IMO If it's run to the right and he.can get a decent throw while running its 6. Gotta love.the play call though. For all the fans last week saying the offense was too vanilla.

When the WR is wide open put some air under the ball. He threw a bullet and was too hard for Landry to make the adjustment.

An underhanded toss would have netted a TD, he was 15 yards past the defense.
