Announced attendance was 92059.

Over/under 80,000? I'll take under.

Lower bowl was pretty full. Upper decks had a light crowd. Hanagriff said 20k no shows. Sounds about right under the circumstances.

Let me be clear, and state I understand completely why the stadium wasn't full. Lot's of people trying to get their lives straight.

Good luck to them.

Thanks for posting this. First home game since 1996 that my dad and myself have missed. Seriously.

Heading back to Laplace now to clean some more, rip out carpets/floors and hopefully get to some sheet rock today.

We wanted to make it to the game really bad but we were completely exhausted and didn't get finished till too late. I still feel bad for missing it but just couldn't make it.

No way should you feel bad at all. I'm sure even the most soul-less bean counters at LSU would want you to take the time to get everything right. You and all the Tiger fans like you in similar situations.

Good luck!

I would be shocked if it was over 75K. Even with many lots closed, I had no problem parking at 2:30 for a 6:00 kickoff.

Mike was even a no-show.

Maybe he had Labor Day weekend plans or perhaps he was making storm damage repairs to his den, but whatever the reason Mike VI, LSU’s live tiger mascot, was a no-show for the Tigers’ season opener Saturday against North Texas.

Mike was in the trailer and went down the hill. He was not brought on the field because it was too sift for the truck and trailer. The Advocate is wrong.
