Spin off from the movie franchises thread.
M. Night Shyamalan is the obvious answer, who are some others.

Tyler PErry!!!!!
The same goes for Michael Bay. Most of his movies are terrible, but he makes boatloads of money off of them.

Not a great example but it's fresh in my mind, but is John Favereau on a decline?

This. Yet Studios still give him money. Tons of indy directors exceptionally better than him.

Why would you say that? Cowboys and Aliens wasnt THAT bad, but to say he's on a decline might be far fetched.

It was pretty bad. And Iron Man 2 seemed to be almost the same movie as 1, with one of the worst final fight scenes ever. For lack of a better description, the fight just "ended."

Like I said, not a great example. I just hope he picks it up a bit before continuing down this path.

This would have been my chance to say Tony Scott, but better late than never I guess.

Winner.
if someone had put a bullet in the back of his head upon finishing Apocalypse Now, not one of his later works would be missed. Except maybe Tucker, and only by Coppola apologists.
