VC:
I am not taking any sides on this. I do not believe anyone can predict what will happen to TM in the year to 2 years. I do not recall anyone predicitng drug treatement over the last week.
I will say that no matter how much "inside" information you may have, Tyrann might change his mind tomorrow and check out of the rehab center. Next week he may enroll at a school and play or sit out 1 year. I think for everyone this is day-to-day at this point and who knows what will happen.
People are giving you a hard time because you seem to know 100% TM will never be allowed back at LSU. Or at least in some posts have implied that you feel through pres releases that he will never be back. I think your posts make it come across as you know more than what is being released by the press and LSU. Who knows what will happen once all the dust settles. LSU may choose to allow him back in 2013 following his drug treatment. Only time will tell at this time.
I will tell you that all drugs have "addictive" qualities to them. While the body may not suffer form withdrawals from weed as much as it suffers from cocaine, treatment is still an option to aid in the recovery for those suffering from addiction from anything. Just ask Tiger Woods.

If he ever wants to return to LSU again and play on the LSU football team he MUST go to REHAB! If he doesn't go to rehad he can't hope to ever play football at LSU again.

I, like many others feel so bad for TM7. I feel deep down he is a great person. I feel sure that he probably had some bad influences around him. It just sucks for him. He had a great opportunity such as the Heisman andgoing pro next year making a huge living. And I feel for the mental anguish he has to be going thru. He has been the most enjoyable player I have watched in the last 40 years at LSU. He always has you waiting for the next big play. I remember at the UNC game at the GA Dome looking in the program near half time to see who 14 was. I also texted friends that didnt make the trip saying this guy will be a star.
I sure hope he gets thru drug rehab and gets drafted or comes back to help the Tigers next year. It will also be a bummer to go to games and not see him on the field this year. We are very deep but we will miss him.

Rehab for weed is as useful as rehab for sex. It's dumb. This is a PR move for people ignorant enough to think weed is the same as heroin. Miles is probably such a person.
Or he peed something worse than weed.

It's more than just his weed smoking. His inability to stop smoking has caused other things in his life to slip. It's more about getting his life back on track and making the right decisions. John will help him do this.

If you read any of TM7 tweets you would quickly realize that the man has demons. I really don't think this is just to get him un-addicted to weed. This is to get him in a much healthier mental state!

I stand corrected. As I said, I do not recall. I guess I did not see that post. And am sure you can tell by my number of posts I do not live on TD. Nothing against those that do, I just do not. lol

Red and VC both have some solid info, albeit from different viewpoints/sides of the situation.
VC doesn't have any 'info'... just his opinion that is greater than everyone else's because he's so high and mighty in life

sigh!!! What do you not understand. It is LSU policy that he must go to rehab if he is to ever return to the football team. Period! LSU would get the hammer from the NCAA if TM played football at lsu and hadn't gone through rehab. It is written policy.

Come on guys, give VC a small break. Not his fault that things changed. What is true right now is that the lines of communication are open. As long as things continue to change for the better that will remain to be true. If things start changing for the worse then a different truth will be presented. What is not true today could have been true yesterday and what is true today could not be true tomorrow.

Seems to me that this may have been an LSU requirement to consider ever reinstating him into the football program.....I take it as a promising thing....

It is an LSU requirement. It is in their drug policy. No rehab zero chance of playing for LSU per their policy.
