re: 2018 World Cup Starting XI

The better prediction would be the 23 man roster in my opinion. The starting 11 could change game to game especially with the USA National pool getting bigger over the last 4 years. It was not long ago that the National team was using the same players for all friendlies, qaulifiers, world cup, etc...Not sure 4 years ago anyone would have predicted some of the players on this roster much less the starting 11.

What part of Louisiana do you live in?

Would Berkman want to come back?

Possibly. But we can't give him a lot of money. Getting old and bad knees.

And, let's sign a real 3B while we're at it: David Wright

This really better be a joke. He'd cost a lot and will not be a longterm investment. Plus we'd be bidding against clubs like Boston for him I think.
I think they should go after 1 maybe 2 veterans that do not cost too much in Free Agency. They've had high picks in draft last few years that have not developed the way they wanted. If I was Astros I'd go after the number 1 pitching prospect in draft from college (not high school), get a veteran solid 15 game winner in free agency, then a solid veteran for the younger talent to have as leader. Not Nick Swisher!!!
Berkman is a good pick- Brings leadership, he is from area and coming off injury so should be pretty cheap and possibly sign to a mid-size contract and 2-3 years so he can retire an Astro.
Mike Fontenot would not be too expensive either. Veteran leadership once again but struggles with consistency. James Shields from Tampa might be a good long term invetment for rotation. Astros being a contender is about 2-5 years away at this point depending on how draft picks develop. Hopefully they stay away from Roy Oswalt and Wolf though I can see them looking at both.
I stand corrected. As I said, I do not recall. I guess I did not see that post. And am sure you can tell by my number of posts I do not live on TD. Nothing against those that do, I just do not. lol
VC:

I am not taking any sides on this. I do not believe anyone can predict what will happen to TM in the year to 2 years. I do not recall anyone predicitng drug treatement over the last week.
I will say that no matter how much "inside" information you may have, Tyrann might change his mind tomorrow and check out of the rehab center. Next week he may enroll at a school and play or sit out 1 year. I think for everyone this is day-to-day at this point and who knows what will happen.
People are giving you a hard time because you seem to know 100% TM will never be allowed back at LSU. Or at least in some posts have implied that you feel through pres releases that he will never be back. I think your posts make it come across as you know more than what is being released by the press and LSU. Who knows what will happen once all the dust settles. LSU may choose to allow him back in 2013 following his drug treatment. Only time will tell at this time.
I will tell you that all drugs have "addictive" qualities to them. While the body may not suffer form withdrawals from weed as much as it suffers from cocaine, treatment is still an option to aid in the recovery for those suffering from addiction from anything. Just ask Tiger Woods.
What sports have they lost in the last few years? Thye are not as compettitive as they were in the past in several sports, and several coaches have taken jobs at other schools, but what sports have they lost?
You posted a bit about Curbside, but not the others. Other than taste, what makes Brewbackers and Mugshots decent burgers? Were they undercooked, not a lot of flavor, etc? I've had a Dearmans more than once. Very good burger. I've always like Roul's, but no comparison to Dearmans in my opinion.
He did not say he wanted ot return to college coaching. I'm just quoting what was said on PTI. That Larry Brown wants to return to coaching on a college level. He may not be a good fit for LSU, the game may have passed him by, just another name other than Jones.
He's just as good a possibility as other names being tossed around, and if nothing else he might be good for recruiting purposes. Brings more recognition than other coaches that people are tossing around on here right now. Or are we simply giving the job to Jones. No matter what decision needs to be reached quickly because we have a lot of holes to fill.

Longshot but what about Larry Brown

Posted by Richard315 on 4/9/12 at 12:51 pm
I remember watching PTI a few weeks ago and them mentioning Larry Brown returning to coaching. They seemed to think he wanted to return to college. Thoughts? Possibilities?

Report is wrong, Chico was airlifted. Children(as of last night) were not severely hurt. One had a broken wrist and the other one was going into surgery for a busted up knee. That's all I know.

I am glad you know Chico, but you are not aware of the children or the extent of their injuries. Both injuries to children and parents were severe, though not as severe as Chico's. I will not go into detail on extent of injuries however both children are in ICU at OLOL. And not for simply a busted up knee or broken wrist.

they are no longer STUDENTS at LSU...they have been suspended from the university

I never heard this, I just heard they were suspended from the team. Additionally, everyone keeps assuming this means they can't participate in practice. That is a coach's decision. The only reason the player would not be allowed to participate in practice is if the NCAA says they are suspeneded for a period. This will more likely happen to RS than either of the JJs at this point.
I ate there last week. Food was pretty good. I got the Roast Beef sandwich instead of burger.
The acoustic player was actually pretty good and female singer. Need to get more acts like that on Friday and Saturday.
Only complaint would be I felt as though service was slow night I Was there, but they looked short staffed.
I'd look for it to end up on the Syfy network like "Merlin" did.

re: Mugshots > Five guys

I like Mugshots. I will say that the kitchen was struggling the first month they were open, but I gave them a second shot and have been back several times. The burgers and appetizers are good, I have not tried other menu items yet. I also like the atmostphere and the guitar player they bring in on Friday and Saturday is entertaining. Decent place to go for young professional that will not be shoulder to shoulder packed and non-smoking.
