Aegon=Illyrio's son
Been adding stuff to support this as I come across it. Found some more hints in Jon Con's first chapter. The math from the events that he mentions also confirm that Aegon should be about 18, but he seems to be younger. Also, Varys and Ilyrio told Jon Con that the boy was Aegon, he is going solely on their word. Illyrio and Varys entrusted him with the boy 12 years ago, so he would have been somewhere between 4 and 6 years old when he first saw him.
Point is, the idea that "Aegon" is a fake is actually more plausible than the story that Varys bought another child that resembled Aegon for a bottle of wine, swapped him with Aegon before Tywin's troops arrived, spirited Aegon to Illyrio before the sack of King's Landing, raised him for up to 5 years in Pentos then sought out Rhaegar's exiled best friend because they thought that he was the best person to protect him.

another welcomed change from the book
If he's in Oldtown, it may not actually be a "change". A lot of readers have speculated that it was him. And hell, we don't even know what his real name is... he is a Faceless Man after all.
It will be cool though to see it and know for sure versus speculating. Of course, if he is the kindly man, then that is a change.

Don't know if anyone has posted this but it's a pretty cool infographic (excuse the length).

Thanks. Btw, I read The name of the wind not too long ago. I liked it. The downside is we are waiting on the final book of the series.

You should try out Malazan Book of the Fallen. The core 10 book series is complete and there are about 10 other books that are all great reads. Most rewarding fantasy series I've read, at times his pace gets a little slow, but it's overall just incredible. It will suck up all the time you need while we await George.

Hey guys, finished up the books over the weekend and just wanted to share some of my thoughts/questions.
- So apparently Arya is a warg also. Pretty much all of her chapters make mention of wolf dreams, her hunting with her pack. I wonder if the show is gonna address that. Martin has made it pretty obvious that Nymeria is still alive and is the badass she-wolf who is leading the pack. It would be so awesome for them to re-unite.
- When Jamie visits Riverrun and talks with the captured Edmure, why does Edmure freak out when Jamie brings him Tom Sevenstrings? Edmure says, “No. Not him. Get him away from me”. Did they previously know each other? It’s probably nothing but I just thought that part was odd.
- So Qyburn is now officially one of the craziest dudes in the realm, you just knew he was up to something sketchy down in those dungeons. I’m not sure how the Robert Strong fight is gonna go, it would be awesome for Sandor to fight him but I just don’t see that happening for some reason. I guess it would be too predictable.
- In A Feast for Crows they make several mentions of Davos being dead. That had me scratching my head for a bit until you get to the next book. That's one thing that's so great about this series, you here things from different people's perspectives so sometimes you're not sure what the hell to believe. I really like Lord Manderly, he gave one of my favorite lines of the entire series: When little Walder Frey turns up dead, “Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived he would have grown up to be a Frey”. That was great.
- What’s up with the giant turtle Tyrion sees while on the Shy Maid? Again, it’s probably nothing but I just thought that part was odd.
- Thought Reznak may have been Varys in disguise because of the several mentions of his perfume wearing. Then I started to doubt that because certainly Barristan would have been able to recognize him, having spent years in King’s Landing with Varys. Then the final scene when Varys pays Ser Kevan a visit really killed the idea for me.
- What was Quentyn’s plan with the dragons? Did he seriously think he would be able to get them all the way back to Dorne. I guess if he thought Dany was truly dead then he may have done it in order to save them from falling into Hizdahr’s hands. Otherwise, that whole plan made no sense to me.
- Who is Darkstar in cahoots with? I guess he did what he did to stir up trouble between Dorne and the Iron Throne, but why?
- What’s about to happen with Jamie and Brienne. I don’t see how Sandor could possibly have Sansa. That part left me scratching my head again.
- Wow, can’t believe I missed who Abel is. I looked him up afterwards and it was like Martin just slapped me in the face saying “It’s Mance you idiot”. Then it made so much sense, him and his 6 spearwives. Still can’t believe that flew right over my head.
- How can Syrio be alive if Meryn Trant is still alive?
- Who the hell is Quaithe and why does she care about helping Dany? She is very mysterious and obviously has some supernatural type powers. Hope we get more info on her.
- And lastly, Jon f'ing Snow. I've read the theory that Melissandre may have given the order to off Jon. The only problem I have with that is how could she convince Bowen and the other crows to betray and kill their own Lord Commander like that. I know a few of the brothers had converted over to the Lord of Light but I don't think Marsh was one.
Anyways, TL:DR
