well what should i read first Kingkiller Chronicle or Malazan Book of the Fallen?
also i recommend reading The Rogue Prince before TP & TQ
I like Malazan much more than Kingkiller, but I would probably say go for Kingkiller first just because it's a much shorter series. You can just read two books there and jump into Malazan. Malazan is 10 books of thousand pages, versus just 2 thousand pagers with Kingkiller.
And you'll probably enjoy Rothfuss much more than I did just because you haven't read as much fantasy and it won't be as generic for you.

On a similar but slightly different genre I just finished the most recent installment of the Dresden files. I really like that series a lot. It is about a wizard/private investigator in modern day Chicago. Each book is a reasonably short read and there are about 14 so far in the series.
Dresden Files is awesome, one of my favorite series. Needs to get made into an HBO or Showtime show.

I would like them, if you don't mind. I've read both, but don't have them. If it goes like it did with the main books then there are probably a lot of things that didn't really register on the first read through.

I've read tons of fantasy for 30 years and I don't find Rothfuss to be even remotely generic. Actually, he's extremely far from it.
If you want to talk generic, try Dresden Files which is absolutely dreadful.
