What sequences in the books are the most key for rereading to pick up new things?
IMO:
Neds dream sequence
House of the Undying
Any Bran dream sequence

KotLT
Any of the brief mentions of the PtwP or AA.

Definitely all of those are very important, and the other prophecies and Jaime's dream in ASoS...and also, when Ned thinks about his children, he never includes Jon with the other 5 and always refers to him as "my blood" rather than "my son" in the books.
I think Maester Aemon telling Jon to 'kill the boy and let the man be born' has several meanings in it as well upon reading.

These, plus:
- I would actually say all of Ned's chapters. On the reread he mentioned Lyanna and Rhaegar far more than I remembered the first time through.
- Aemon's "kill the boy". This one is tricky because I believe there are actually three related POVs around this between Jon and Sam
- High Heart
- Mel's POV chapters in ADWD
- All of Bran's chapters (which would also get you the story of KotLT)
- Arya's chapter in GoT when she overhears Ilyrio and Varys.

Hey y'all, the crew is finished filming in Belfast and are now in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Here's some new pictures thanks to WinterisComing.net.
And THE MOUNTAIN has been recast.

The article lists him as 24 YEARS OLD?? Mother of God...
He looks 40!

Though the 6’9?-tall performer doesn’t have any professional acting experience, he has racked up an impressive list of accolades. At only 24 years old, Thor has won the title of “Iceland’s Strongest Man” for the last three years in a row, and placed third in the 2012 “World’s Strongest Man” competition. WiC sources are reporting that Thor was on set in Belfast earlier this August, and that he is currently in Dubrovnik with the rest of the cast, preparing to film scenes for season four.

So this is the 3rd mountain? I think that the first was well cast. The second was too skinny looking. He looks like an NBA center. It really wasn't what I imagined the Mountain to look like. This one looks to be about as well cast as the first one. It just kind of sucks that they couldn't have consistency. Oh well.

This dude is like 15 inches too short.
How hard is it to find a ripped, 8' tall actor these days?

Seriously every one in this cast is at least 6 inches too short.

Mountain #3 looks like he should be on WWE.

Yeah, Carson posted about the Daario news a day or two ago on here.
I'm annoyed with the recast because I felt like Ed Skrein was douchey/sleazy enough to be Daario, and this actor looks like a much better pick for Euron or a Kettleblack than Daario (please I hope there's no blue beard this season ). Also, the Hodors will be mad/not adjust as well as say the recasts for the Mountain and Tommen.

Also, a black actor was added to the season 4 cast, no news on which character he's playing. Y'all think it's the Cinnamon Wind captain, Xhondo? Brown Ben Plumm? Recast of Salladhor Saan? Jalabhar Xho?

You've got it bad, huh? You must be on prescription drugs to tolerate the waiting...I finished the books about 3 months ago and it's already killing me.

I can't say that I was into the books from the beginning (thank God), but I did suffer through the gap between AFfC and ADwD, which was more than bad enough. The HBO series has actually gone a long way toward helping with the wait.
