I read on the Littlefinger page that allegedly Locke is being sent to the Wall in season 4....please don't make him replace Bowen Marsh and this makes Brienne's story even more boring

I have been going through the Game of Thrones book the last couple days and I have been noticing a lot of little things that I had no way of linking during the first read.
1. Weirwoods are a reflection of Bloodraven. I am curious if they take the attributes of whoever is connected to them and if the Weirwood trees will look different when/if Bran takes up the mantle.
2. The prophecies and dreams are what interest me the most and how much they will play in the end.
- Does anyone think that Azor Ahai might have been a Stark? Jon has dreams of wandered around the empty castle and making his way to the crypts. He says that the place is meant for Starks but he feels compelled to go in anyway. Does anyone think Lightbringer might be lying in the crypts of Winterfell?
- Who thinks that the Prince that was promised is the same as Azor Ahai or do you think they are different? I certainly think the prophecies are intertwined but I'm not sure that they are different versions of the same.

Jon killing Slynt is one of my favorite Jon moments and makes him a badass

I've been reading ADWD and I like the idea of Jon and Val getting together (after his potential resurrection/rebirth in TWoW) contrary to the fangurls on the ASOIAF forum who want Jon and Satin to happen

There's an interesting theory I read that some of Jon's story parallels Snow White. I'll have to find it. Here's my summary of it:
It mainly has to do with Bowen Marsh aka the Old Pomegranate. Pomegranates themselves are symbols, and it was thought that Adam and Eve were tempted by the Pomegranate rather than an Apple. The same can be said for Snow White, and Pomegranates (apples) symbolize death. Snow White died from eating a poisoned apple (pomegranate), and Jon was killed by The Pomegranate. It is thought that Val or Mel may be the ones to bring him back to life with a "kiss" (could be either or both literal/figurative) .In relation to Jesus, the pomegranate symbolizes death and resurrection, and a lot of Jon's story/character is a motif for Christ. There is also a lot of Ancient Greek and Norse mythology associated with Jon's story but a lot of his story parallels Christ.

As you are reading ADWD there is another nice little foreshadowing of Jon's death and potential resurrection during one of Mel's visions. When she is bitching about looking for AA and only seeing Snow every time, she mentions how she sees a vision of him and in it now he's a man, then he's a wolf, now he's a man again. This combined with the prologue of ADWD and Jon's last words being "Ghost" makes it a shoo in I think.

Their literature board has the "Jatin" pairing on there too..there was a 13 page thread about it the other day. I was thinking "Sorry, but Jon doesn't give me any Renly or Loras vibes; it's not gonna happen."
Jon and Mel have an interesting dynamic, to say the least. There's a lot of foreshadowing in his chapters that he's going to 'die' and that Mel hints at her being useful to him when he's in dire straits. She seems fond of him. Also, Stannis tends to use a lot of his dryness towards Jon a lot but it's mostly because he's trying to see what Jon is made of since he's a 17 year old LC. I actually think Stannis respects him.
Oh, and I can't be the only one who thinks Stannis has some of the most unintentionally hilarious lines in the series. He's sooooo serious and dry but I tend to laugh when I read some of the shite he says.
ETA: I rewatched the Throne trailer from season 1 (long time ago it seems like now), and Jon is the ONLY Stark 'kid' that's in the trailer....very interesting. Plus Ghost is with him...This trailer (back from before season 1 began) basically confirms it all. Jon is going to become a 'player'/main character.
Pure crackpottery here but I think Jon is going to accept his warging abilities and hone them in TWoW. Why else show him with GHOST next to the IRON Throne while voiceover Ned says "You might not have my name, but you have my blood!?!?" David and Dan certainly laid it on thick with this promo. Either that or I'm completely over-analyzing Jon's role/endgame in this series.

Honestly, Janos Slynt's death is probably the most satisfying one yet. Just when you think Jon is about to puss out on the hanging by saying "This isn't right" he says "Edd, fetch me the block". The biggest frick yeah moment for me in the series. Slynt goes out like the spineless coward he really is and Stannis Baratheon gives Jon a fist pump.
I think I may despise Slynt more than Joffrey. Never met someone like Joffrey in my life, but I have met a few Janos Slynts in my day, which makes me despise him all the more.
