if that is the case, which GRRM is leading us to believe, how will he convince him to work with the Others? Bran and Jon must get behind bloodraven's plans for this to evolve into an ice vs fire story. Jon sees the Others as a huge threat to the realms of men. if he, as AA, is truly going to be a dragon rider, will he be battling his brother? it seems like Dany's horde + dragons + Northern Lords + Southern Lords + Rickon's cannibals + Wall/Wildlings + CotF/Bran Flakes + whoever else VS. the Others kind of kills the whole underdog heros defeat the unstoppable force angle. With all that power amassed against the Others, the reader would expect them to win.
I've never said that Bran would actually go along with bloodravens plan. I've just always stated that he is at a very dangerous spot right now. And Ben with those armies wraps the others/wights the realms of men are severely outnumbered when you take into account that others can only be killed by dragon glass and that every human casualties Swells the ranks of the enemy.

i just picture three dragons cutting through the ranks of wights/others with no difficulty making the "battles" involving dragons kind of meh.

i don't like it. i'd rather Tyrion than Jon
I tend to agree with you. Tyrion, Arya, and Bran would be my preference.
But the prophesy seems pretty solid to me. Just based on that, I don't see how the 3HotD could be anyone other than Aegon, Dany, and Jon.

You see the wights and others are closer to westeros and actually on the move.....
Dany is....... Well not so much

I thought the HotU scene made it seem like Rhaegar and Elia's 2 kids were the dragon riders,
I also think that the three dragon-riders don't necessarily have to be the same as the "three heads of the dragon." In fact, GRRM stated that a dragon could have more than 1 rider.
For example, I could definitely see Victarion riding a dragon in tWoW. But I don't see him as one of the 3HotD.
What say you, m'ladytiger?

i may be the only one, but i'd like to see the dragons severely limited in some way to ensure a decent struggle in the upcoming war. they just seem like too much of a trump card to me. that's my main reason for following the recurring legends of various beasts from before the age of heroes like krakens and ice dragons that could level the playing field

I see what you're saying .
So more than just the HotD can ride the dragons right?
What if the dragons fry people who try to ride them?

plus all of the theorizing going on in the in game threads. it's crazy to me that we still don't have a clear idea of how the rest of the saga will play out
my money is on an army of Hodor clones controlled by a Jojen-powered Bran and Jon Ahai against the hordes of former wildlings and northmen wights led by Hot Pie battling it out up and down Westeros leaving only Greywater Watch and the Isle of Faces untouched before Lancel unleashes the awesome power of the Seven to break Westeros and send it beneath the waves of the surrounding seas while Dany resides safely in Meereen

I still can't get my head around Tyrion being a HotD. However, I am of the opinion that he ends up as Lord of Casterly Rock and my crackpot is that Sansa ends up honoring her vows to him. Tyrion will have some great role to play, but I don't see him as a Targ. I think is great moment will come in some other form.

so when will we see Jon and Bran(HotD #'s 2&3) riding wight dragons in open war against Dany?
you know, because you NEVER bring a woman to a dragon fight. it's science
