Also Aemon believe that the "prince that was promised" could have been a princess.
quote:
Aemon later came to doubt the wisdom of looking for a prince, rather than a princess. He realized there was a translation error, the term translated was fluid in terms of gender. Connected to the term for dragons, who are neither male nor female

Could Aegon be AA? Bloodraven could be getting back at the Targs and joined the Other God against AA and the Red God.
Bloodraven was pro-Targ because he backed Daeron. Bittersteel was anti-Targ, he backed Daemon.

Could Jon be the Lightbringer? Rhaegar was AA and Lyanna was Nissa Nissa. Rhaegar put the sword (his seed) into Lyanna and sacrificed her (sickness?) creating Jon (Lightbringer)
Also "The seed is strong"
Nice theory but was Lyanna really a sacrifice?
Me thinks no
Who are the three dragon heads?

It's a common misconception that Bloodraven hated the Targ's. He feuded with Maeker only because he was named Hand and Maeker felt slighted. He was part of Aemon's honor guard to the Wall and I have a feeling he volunteered for that.

Martells (Aegon (Elia Martell); Starks (Jon(Lyanna Stark); Targaryen (Rhaegar or Dany)

Which ones are you referring to here Methuselah? Only one I can really think of is Fevre Dream. I haven't read all his stuff, but Dying of the Light, Tuf Voyaging, Nightflyers, and Armageddon Rag don't really end that way.
- spoilers for other Martin books -
- warning - skip this post if you plan on reading other Martin novels -
I was thinking primarily of Fevre Dream because I just finished reading it yesterday. But Windhaven ended much the same way. With the primary character having grown old on her death bed, having a song composed for her as she lay near death, and talk about the burial rites of flyers (I think that's what gave me the idea about the in air burial ceremony for Tyrion/Danny.
Of course Windhaven was written by Martin and Lisa Tuttle. So I don't know if that part was him or her.
Those are really the only two novels of Martin that I've read (though I read a bunch of his short stories). I may have over generalized his style of endings from those two.

Would Covington do all of this for a Blackfyre?
quote:
He has to believe Aegon is a Targ. That would be difficult to pull off telling the Golden Company leader that Aegon is a Blackfyre and Covington that he is a Targ. Then getting the GC leader to help with Covington faking his death. Those two would have had a conversation.
Unless GC leader was in on the lying to Covington.
Varys had been adamant about the need for secrecy. The plans that he and Illyrio had made with Blackheart had been known to them alone. The rest of the company had been left ignorant. What they did not know they could not let slip.
This is almost certainly the "contract in blood" that Illyrio mentions -- so it was likely signed by Varys, Illyrio, and Blackheart Toyne. Most of the believers in the Blackfyre theory think that the Golden Company rank-and-file have no idea about the secret, as Griff himself says, the secret would get out. Harry Strickland may not even know. So the important question is why Blackheart Toyne would participate in this deal. And the most salient feature of House Toyne is that they've had a century-long grudge with House Targayen. From the wiki:
Ser Terrence "was found abed with one of King Aegon the Unworthy's mistresses. Even though they proclaimed love, Aegon had them executed. Toyne was dismembered piece by piece, while the mistress was forced to watch before meeting her own death. Ser Terrence's brothers attempted to avenge him by killing King Aegon, but were stopped by Prince Aemon the Dragonknight died defending him instead, and they paid for their treason with their lives. This event was key in the downfall of House Toyne."
That happened ages ago, you say? Well what about Simon Toyne, "the leader of the Kingswood Brotherhood, an outlaw organization that operated during the reign of Aerys II," and killed by Barristan Selmy?
And of course we have Blackheart Toyne at the head of the Golden Company. (EDIT: As ungoogleable says below, "He likely fought in the War of the Ninepenny Kings to put Maelys the Monstrous on the Iron Throne. He took over the Golden Company after Maelys was killed by Barristan. If anybody who isn't a Blackfyre is likely to be a Blackfyre loyalist, it's Myles Toyne.") Does it seem at all likely that this man would sign a secret contract in blood, a decade ago, pledging the Golden Company to restore Rhaegar Targaryen's son to the throne?

But now I want the bitch to fail.
Seriously, motherfricker comes up and says, "Here's 13 FREE ships to carry you and your army to Westeros and I'm not even going to ask for a hand job."
Dany says "Nah, I will wait and frick around with some dirty Ghiscari nobles."
"Bloody glove bitch."

I blame Meereen. Now that she has her BA dragon back and a bunch of Dothraki, maybe she will be the Dany that just says Dracarys instead of whining.

i think littlefinger has planned everything out for him to win westeros as it stands RIGHT NOW. he isnt planning on dany or dragons or asor azhai or jon or whoever. he is simply beating the lannisters and tyrell's and all those vying for the throne right now.
he's awesome, but he wont win

Did some searching and answered those questions for the most part.
After they killed Quentyn Martell, Dany's other two dragons apparantly got loose. Do we know where they went? I wonder how long it takes them to reunite with Dany and Drogon.

Littlefinger is good at moving/manipulating pieces but he fails to see the big picture.
ETA: Probably because he doesn't give a frick.

i like cold weather, castles and pagan stuff so her "fire" side is all wrong. i'm hoping this shapes up to be a North vs. Middle East endgame with Jon and his Northern army taking home the throne

This is Bloodraven we are talking about here. He's not like most people. Him volunteering probably had more to do with knowing where his destiny needed to take him.
