As a wolf Jon can be very influential in the fight against the Others, but he will never get any real recognition. This seems fitting for his character.
I think he'll warg into Ghost, dead or alive (while his body heals or waits for resurrection), but very temporarily. Hopefully long enough to connect w Summer-Bran-Greenseer and know his siblings are alive and alot of the WeirwoodNet info (Tactical info on the war in the North - Ramsey's BS letter, Winterfell, Theon, Manderly, Stannis, etc...maybe even something very personal, or at least directs him to a clue hidden in the crypts (gotta happen sooner or later).
Not permanent, though. If he remains in Ghost too long, he becomes Ghost. As a full-blown Direwolf, he simply won't care - about anything but pack-life. Man's struggle for survival will become meaningless to him, much less who sits in what chair.

I hope Theon fricking dies in a fire.
Well, considering who has captured him, I'd say that's a very possible death.
And while I don't particularly like Theon, he is one of my favorite characters and tends to have some of the best chapters in the series.

Balon Geryjoy's prior claim as King bolsters this possibility, Ser.

I think that if he does warg into Ghost it will be extremely short lived. IIRC, there is some kind of caveat about bringing people back to life R'hollr style. Like when Beric brings back Cat, Thoros tells him that it has been to long but he does it anyway.
The reason that Beric was so good after being killed and resurrected was the time frame for his resurrections. This also the reason that Un-Cat looks more like a Walking Dead character.
I think those expecting several chapters or even an entire book of John in Ghost are going to be disappointed. The rules of ASOIAF are against your theory.

Except that he was killed in the North where it's freezing. I'm assuming that the reason UnCat looks so bad was that she was decomposing. If it is freezing, you decompose much less (Imo, no decomposition in the North by the wall).

Do you really think they're going to leave him unfrozen and risk him turning into a wright?

Decomposition is definitely an issue but there hasn't been enough written about Un-Cat to know if her new mindset is a result of her murder or her resurrection. She has gone off the reservation in terms of rational thought. She is hellbent on revenge and goes by a different name.
Who's to say that these changes weren't brought on by the resurrection, like a Pet Semetary style comeback? Beric came back virtually the same whereas Cat goes down for 3 days and comes back a zombie-Sith with a taste for blood. She did run out and hang her sworn sword without so much as a chance to explain what happened. These aren't the actions of Catelyn Stark, who I always viewed as extremely savvy.
Just a thought.

UnCat also floated in the river for some time before resurrection. I wonder if her behavior is a result of her brain decomposing.

you return in the state you are in at time of resurrection.

Ive always thought Theon would be a redemption character.

I've done all 5 books. It's sometimes difficult to keep the books and show separated. If I've broken a rule, I apologize. It was unintentional. For those of you so in love with Jamie, tsk tsk.

Theon becomes Jamie Lannister's reanimated right hand. The dragon always has three heads? well get ready to be blown away red wedding style as Theon The Hand mounts dragon #3 while maintaining his grip on Lightbringer!

He will be. I have no doubt. Theon is in every facet the prodigal son returned. First to his blood family and now to his adoptive one. He will, in some way, redeem himself before dying... possibly in a fire.

Word. I also see Jamie as a redemption character. Though he may not die.

He saved hundreds of thousands of lives through his most reviled crime. Plus he's definitely changing and trying to follow an honorable path now. I believe he deserves a second chance and is now proving he deserves it.

I ask you again
Cause I sure the frick would

I picture Melisandre taking over as soon as the Brothers stab Jon and her preparing for or waiting for her fires to tell her when to perform the ritual to resurrect him.

I'll be so pissed, frick Theon. At least with Jamie most of the despicable shite he does is defensible in some way. NOBODY wanted Theon to sack Winterfell but he did it anyway for some attempt at glory. He's the most selfish person in the books, if there is anybody who deserves what happened to him it's Theon. Just kill the mother fricker GRRM, no need for redemption
