Doen't McNeese have the same standards as LSU? or any at all?

I understand this is the chance to get perhaps their best player ever. But don't they have standards?
FCS or 1 AA doesn't mean fly by night does it? Yeah they took Janzen but if what he did was so bad to merit dismissal from LSU, what does this say about the Cowboys?

The kid just got the axe from one of the best teams in college football, lost any chance of meaningful awards, and will eventually not have the media spotlight on him (which for him is probably the biggest punishment). Exactly how much more do you want him punished? Let the kid play wherever he wants outside of the FBS. He deserves a shot at redemption. If he doesn't pan out, McNeese will show him the door a la Cecil Collins.

Considering he violated LSU's policy and not McNeeses's policy because he wasn't even at McNeese obviously I don't see how this is an issue. He gets a second chance at McNeese and I imagine he will be on a very short leash.

You mean like LSU taking Mettenberger or when they let Melvin Oliver back on the team after beating a woman? What about Perriloux being given chance after chance? Every program has skeletons and can be hypocritical to some degree.

Lol if they didn't pick him up northwestern or some other school would. It's a hope that maybe the player has learned something and wants to walk the straight and narrow to insure they get a chance to play on Sundays. If they come to mcneese as act a fool they are gone pretty quickly

I think if you asked the LSU coaching staff and athletic department administration as well as the LSU players they would unanimously say that they hope some school gives the guy a second chance.
Having said that, McNeese's experience with SEC "discipline" type transfers has not been good. I can only think of two: Cecil Collins and Jantzen Jackson.
Cecil Collins played two games then got busted on a drug test. Jantzen Jackson played one season then declared for the draft. I've seen the assertion that he hurt McNeese's APR. Neither broke into the starting lineup before they left. I'm sure they would have if they'd stayed around long enough to learn the systems. But neither really contributed all that much as players while they were there; though Collins did score the winning touchdown in the game before he got busted.
So from McNeese's standpoint there may be some reluctance to do it again provided they really do have the opportunity. Me, I'd hope they take him. But I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.
