It is being released today. I'm assuming Houston is the only place to find it for the time being.

The old lady already got me 4 sixers. Got plans for a few more. Want to share with some friends/family back home in NOLA.

This isn't good. I got a tweet back from Spec's in midtown--they ran out in 45 min!
Posted on 7/31/12 at 12:09 pm to Haydo
My bro was in line at spec's midtown around 9:55 before it opened at 10. It was wrapped around the building.
They limited 2 sixers and a bomber per customer, and he was able to get his share. Considering the limit, that's crazy that they were out in 45 mins.

No disrespect to anyone, but st arnolds is just not that good to wait in a long arse line to get it. Jmo.

She picked up the first 2 at about 830. She hit up Central Market, HEB, Kroger, Whole Foods all before Specs @ 10am. Wasn't successful at each of those locations until later, but lesson learned: look for it elsewhere before Specs @ 10am.

imagine what it would be like if we did actually have some outstanding craft beer producers here.

As I mentioned earlier, unfortunately, most of this isn't just for me. My SO didn't have work today so she was on release duty around the city. Worked out well.

I think you have some pretty good ones over in Tejas. And your top dog is better than LA's top dog.
Well, that's declaring Saint Arnold to be the top dog in TX craft beer and not Shiner, which is debateably even a craft beer since they aren't independently owned anymore.

pretty good, but not outstanding. People are clamoring for DR12 like it's holy water or something, and they do that for every SA "limited" release. If we had some really great beer here it would be huge. A couple changes in beer laws in Texas and this place would blow the frick up with brewers. You know how people here are, they'll buy anything "made in Texas" anyways

They may be the biggest, but you know they ain't the best this state has to offer.

Speaking of St. Arnold, I was listening to one of the Guys from BJ's restaurant/brewery. He's one of their head brewers with a shite-ton of experience and at the time his office was actually in St. Arnold's brewery. I knew the BJ's was brewed by St. Arnold but they have a much better relationship than just contract brewing for them.
No clue if he's still in there but they do have a few of their own breweries I think and they only have two partner breweries.
I think I'll stop by there again sometime soon. The Tatonka Stout is always worth a try and their Grand Cru and pumpkin beers are pretty freaking good.
