It is beyond my wildest comprehension why any red-blooded Louisianian would want to play for......Alabama ???????????????????? That does not compute to me. Why would any Louisiana kid want to play for LSU's """""""""former"""""""" coach. It's beyond me.
LSU has the best in facilities, coaching, tradition, stadium, football operatons, practice facilities, weight room, fans, enthusiam, is a Tier I Institution with several Top Ten programs, and has some great networking and business contact advantages.

Prom, you used to be ok but you are now consistently one of the worst posters on this board. What happened? Wife packing on the lbs?

Greg Gilmore 290 lb DT

"There's a lot to say about Alabama. I've been down there twice. I could play the five technique for them, and I could possibly play the 'jack linebacker' position. I won't be at nose guard because I'm pushing 290 (lbs.) right now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This may be Saban's last year sadly, he's officially going senile, if we keep him around much longer Cooper Bateman will be practicing at Jack LB.

Got this from SEC board looks like even the Bama faithful have figured out Sabans Jack BS. Sure looks like or prospect Gilmore figured it out as well.

I thought the sarcasm was obvious with that post. It was a joke.

Im just curious, do you think the poster was a joke, or Gilmore was joking?

Because he did in fact say that in an interview recently.

The poster was joking. We know the Jack LB pitch is given to all kinds of kids. Though it doesn't mean they'll ever play there. Usually the context of the conversation is completely lost once "Jack LB" is mentioned. The position is always dependent on how a kid grows and develops.

is gilmore going to "grow" into the position by shrinking by 50 pounds?

That the Jack LB spot was mentioned to him? Of course. He has no reason to lie.

Some kids drop weight once they are in a college weight program, before putting it back on. Not entirely impossible he could stay around 280-300. Courtney Upshaw did play Jack LB at 285 pounds. That being said, it's all a moot point. Gilmore is going to LSU.

Why even post this?
Prom lives for posting negative recruiting info.

if its positive info from an LSU source, he doesn't buy into it, but when a Bama homer with little credibility says it, its the truth

Or 265. Po-tay-to, po-tah-to.

Courtney Upshaw weighed nowhere near 285 lbs

He's mocking the Bama homers dude.

The only thing I've really seen him be "negative" about is saying Nkiemdiche wasn't coming to LSU and he's now committed to Clemson.

Upshaw had to slim down after the Senior bowl. He was said to be up to near 290 by the combine. He is listed at 272 with the Ravens now. The point being, a position that sees the OLB playing as DE 60% of the time needs size. But that is neither here nor there, relative to Gilmore.
