Simon... Lock down corner?

I've been impressed with Simon his first two years, but can he be a lock down corner a la Peterson and Mo?
I know he is pretty good, but he can be considered that elite/take away half the field level?
Trying to ask a legit question, unlike many on the rant I will admit that I don't have a big XO/technique background.

he seems to be pretty fast, has good ball skills and has great heigth (6'3) i think he has the potential to be a lock down corner and i think he will be.

If he could catch, he would be a 1st round pick.

I'm not so sure he'll be the as dominant a corner as Peterson or Claiborne but he is going to turn a lot of heads this year I think.
The SEC this year is not really loaded with very good WRs all over the place so DBs could feast a bit this year.

Yeah, he would have led the sec in interceptions last season...if he hand hands

He isn't as physical as Peterson or Mo but being 6'3 with long arms is a huge advantage. I think he breaks out this year and continues our tradition of DBU

Yeah his side will be feared this year much like PP7 and Mo IMO. Got all the tools, now time to apply the potential we all know he has (how he wasn't voted atleast a 3rd team all SEC DB by the coaches blows my mind).

i think many people are unaware he led the team in PBUs last year. if he could catch, he probably would have led the team in INTs as well. Mo was pretty unknown until the 2nd half of 2010 because of being overshadowed by PP. I expect/hope Simon will be much the same.

He isn't as good as Mo or Pat P. but he'll be a stud for us this season. 6'3 corners don't come around everyday. I think Simon is a guy who plays the deep ball extremely well (because of his height) he can make up for getting beat a half step unlike smaller guys.

He's been my favorite player since his freshman year. I can't even explain why, just really like the way he plays. Look forward to seeing him be featured more this year.

i think when it's his time to stepup he will, and having the cupcakes like we have excepet for washington will help with his confidence. he or reid will lead the team with bout 4 ints by the 5th game of the season.

I just can't see him being THAT feared. He's impressive no doubt, but Claiborne was the only cornerback I ever saw who made me confident a pass was going to be intercepted. Anytime a QB tried to go deep on his side of the field, he went up like a WR and snatched it out the air.
PP7 was good. No explanation needed.

In 2010 Simon played Julio better than PP7 did. FACT

He had the most pass break ups last year cause nobody threw to mo c's side

I think Simon will be in the running to get LSU our 3rd straight Thorpe award winner. Keep in mind that our 4th best CB went in the middle rounds of the draft.

Yeah whoever said he isn't as physical as PP7 and Mo must not have seen him against Julio and Fuller for aTm. I remember thinking man we would be killing aTm if we could stop all those intermediate passes to Fuller for first downs. The coaches switched and put Simon on him and he pretty much disappeared.

saw a stat earlier that QBs averaged somewhere around 3.5 YPA on Simon, which lead the team. Sure they threw away from Mo, but Mo had that same luxury the year before with PP on the field.

Everyone was pretty aware of Mo after the 2010 Spring game.
