The first half of the SECCG was awful QB play and I kept waiting for a change at QB then.
No alleged injuries or blacklists that I've heard of...
Post hoc BS meters still going haywire here...

UTTER AND COMPLETE BS!!! Les was going to sink or swim with JJ. Reference the SEC Championship game where we had NINE total yards of offense and ZERO first downs in the first half, yet Les had a healthy Mett and he didn't use him.

No! Players redeem themselves - especially the more competitive ones. Bama's PK should not have had another shot after his dismal performance in game1. But he did ok in game2.

There was every reason out there to play JL vs Bama in game2.

Makes more sense than anything else. There was plenty friction between JL and Miles, and many players were pissed too. Again this is from my source. Fwiw.

Completely true.
Unfortunately all the Miles lovers will buy it.
It amazes me the stupid decisions this guy makes over and over and every time there's a we woulda done____ except for____and people continue to believe that.

Not similar to a plane crash, how many times do people parachute out if commercial airplanes? They try and land them, or crash them where other people wont get hurt.

This is coach speak. This is Les giving an answer to a question he will be asked 300 million times before he dies. Anyone reading into this or freaking out ab this has no grasp on reality. Im as die hard as a fan there is, but you have to draw a line and move on.

If Les said this about Mett and not playing on 1/9, then it was as about ill-timed and unhelpful as anything he could say.

So, he'd have played the guy who he didn't choose to play in either the UGA or Arky game when JJ was stinking it up early BUT, he wouldn't consider the guy who successfully started the entire first half of the season?

Holy frick. I sure as frick hope that's just rhetoric to make people get high on Mett going FORWARD.

Jeebus, that's retarded.

Wait wait wait. So Miles ADMITS that he should have and would have played a QB other than JJ...but makes no explanation as to why he failed to substitute in the available senior back-up who had started half of the season and gone undefeated in that role?

Ummmmm....did you NOT see how he looked in the first meeting??

J. Lee lost his shot with the "deer in the headlight" play in Nov.

Nope. Competitive players always look to redeem themselves after a poor performance. Compare Bama's FG kicker in games 1 and 2.

There was no reason not to play JL on 1/9.

Don't know. Its over.

I would have liked to have seen 5 wide shotgun with JL though.

in looking at the transcript...it looks like the quote has been a bit overblown. Which is a bit odd on the rant

quote:

Q. Everybody seems to think
Mettenberger is such a good passer, do you
have any second thoughts about not giving
him a shot last season?

COACH MILES: Coming off of the
national championship game, I would like to have
given a lot of thought to things in that game.

But we were really getting him ready to
play. I think the other two quarterbacks at that
point in time were a little bit more advanced. I
think late in the year, you know, he had an
opportunity to take a couple of strides and got a
hand injury that really kind of slowed his
development.

Maybe he could have taken some snaps in
that national championship game should he have
not gotten hurt, you know, earlier in that bowl
practice, so...
Thank you, guys.

Other than 1 particular pass, I have not seen where Lee had ever 'redeemed' himself against Bama. Just don't see where.

Wrong, but yall keep running with the lies. Go back and read the rant all thru decemeber. Lots of stories floating around about Lee BEFORE the game.

And I heard that Mett had a hurt hand a while back. Are you suggesting, Miles took a little known rumor and spewed that on National TV?

Why is this so hard for people to grasp. Oh wait. I already know. Because people have an agenda and want to advance that agenda despite the evidence.

Exactly! Lee led a couple good combacks and key plays at LSU. Against Tenn and UF when JJ was stinking it up and a key pass against Bama. LSU wasn't close to scoring 1/9/12 I don't see much harm even if Lee threw a pick. JJ never came out his slump in the SEC champ game and he doesn't pass well enough to come from behind. He had the passing stats of a high school qb in 2010.
