Dude I'm not saying that; I think what happened there is just as fricked up as you do, I think the Penn State officials (including Joe Pa) not acknowledging it is just as fricked up as you do, I promise.
I just don't think we should completely forget all of the things Joe Pa did in college football because of one fricked up situation, that's all I'm saying
I really dont think you get it. He covered it all up for his own legacy. By allowing him to keep the records and keep the legacy you have rewarded his behavior. The very least that can be done is not reward a man so driven by selfish ambition that he would hand over innocent children to get his own glory. The paterno name should go down in infamy.

In all honesty, Bowden has handled his forced retirement about as well as any coach I've seen. During the last few years he was coaching, I had serious doubts about whether he knew more than 3 players on his own team. Now, in interviews, he's not just coherent, he's engaging and seems a lot younger.
Bobby also had and was treated for prostate cancer in the last few years of his coaching career. The difference is that the guilt of a child rape scandal cover up didn't kill him.

No problem if they decide to take it down but they should give it a month or so before deciding.
If they had any self respect, they'd destroy the statue before dawn, as well as melt down any trophy won by Paterno since 1998.

Don't take it down. Just put a blindfold and on him, bend him over, erect one of Sandusky standing right behind JoPa, pants down, about to Do to Paterno what he did to those poor kids.
That will ensure the JoPa's true legacy is forever enshrined in happy valley

"fricked up one situation"?? One victim was raped 20 more times after JoPa knew for the second time that Sandusky was raping kids. Another 8-10 were raped after that as well, for an untold number of times of over a decade of abuse. And JoPa, not once, asked bout the kids involved. That takes it wayyy beyond fricking up one situation. He knew bout, covered up, and then lied for a period running from 1998 to 2011. All while his best friend had complete & total access to athletic facilities..and Second Mile kids.

With the way that Jay Paterno has been blindly supporting his dad and systematically disputing any and all obvious evidence, I would not be surprised one bit if Paterno's kids got the tickle monster treatment.
Face it, look at Joe Pa, he's a creepy dude. Sandusky was a creepy dude, a monster for sure. Birds of a feather flock together. If a 10 years from now the Paterno kids break down and give a tearful Oprah interview I won't be one bit surprised by anything that comes out.

To be fair FSU played the best team in the SEC in that era(UF) every year anyway nobody else in the conference was that good outside of UT and Bama for a couple years.
Bowden's statement as to why he did not want to join the SEC at that time was that you couldn't win championships with that schedule. He took the easy path.

Bowden should stay out of it.
