so our bats are still struggling maybe its just a summer thing

To sum up for now...
Nobody is smashing the ball well, Rhymes still slumping and striking out a bunch, Jones still striking out a bunch...Katz really improved in not striking out as much...Powell and ESPECIALLY Yocum might be hard pressed for a spot on the team come Fall putting up these numbers.
Nola is dominating as is Rumbelow, Cotton and more surprisingly Berry and Trent. Good to see those 2 coming around. Cody Glenn has improved drastically from where he was last spring, better control. LaMarche is doing OKAY, as is Johnson. McCune and Reed have gotten touched up badly on more than 1 occasion.

a few things jump off the page to me...
- I'm hoping our hitters are tired from the season, because they are hitting very poor.
- Rumbelow was a summer league all star last season as well.
- McCune is way off the wagon right now. Could he honestly go from Friday night starter as a freshman to being cut?

What the hell happened to yocum? I doubt he's around next year.
If Kevin berry could regain his form from 2 years ago and be a reliable 8th inning guy it would really help us replacing goody and either cotton or bonvaillan if one if them move to weekend rotation. Christian Trent and Aaron johnson would be nice surprises also. I think johnson is a lefty.

I'm calling it right now, this guy will not make the roster in 2013.

So in summary, our hitters strike out a ton, and almost never walk. Our pitchers strike out a ton of batters and don't walk very many (except for Johnson and his 15 bb/14.2 innings).
This is pretty much in line with last season. There is a systematic flaw in the LSU hitters approach at the plate, and Paul Mainieri needs to figure it out quickly or he'll let our hitting instructor Tepper the baseball program.

Why is Reed still on the team? What the hell happened to McCune? Glad to see we stayed consistent hitting the ball.

Rhymes is batting .244 , and Katz and Jones don't have enough at bats to qualify being listed.

Was McCune pitching underhanded?
Maybe the other team was allowing Pujols to bat in every slot?

Christian Trent is a not a surprise to me. I saw him pitch at St Paul's in Covington. He is a real competitor with a fast ball that touches 90 mph and very good breaking stuff.
