I know the debate has been all over the Poli board and the OT. The only reason I post it here is because it's the full length movie.

I feel like the most important part of something moving forward is knowledge. Most people don't even give marijuana a second thought. There are many posters here that are completely ignorant and will argue until they're blue in the face about the reasons why it should remain illegal.

I've found myself on the cusp of being completely addicted in learning more about the movement to legalize marijuana. If you are on the fence or you are just completely clueless about the subject, take a while (if you have the time) to watch this documentary. It completely blew me away.

Bookmark this for when you have the time. I really don't think you will be disappointed and I'd like to read some feedback here. I'll bump it here and there and hopefully someone who isn't informed will chime in and let us know what they think.

Just finished watching it. Great documentary, thanks for sharing. I hope to see marijuana legalized in the US before I die. If it doesn't happen, my generation will have failed.

Watched this about a year ago. Great doc. I still can't believe the gas mask on the monkey test and how that was used as legit science

I think it needs to be legalized just from the standpoint of how much money and resources are waste on putting pot dealers and users in jail. I'd be willin to bet 1/2 of college kids have at least tried or been exposed to it. It's ok when "oh I was just trying it out" in college, but of people on the street want to sell it/use it it's a huge deal.

It's a plant. How is a plant illegal? It's a fricking plant.

Oh and nobody has ever overdosed on pot use. I would like to see someone justify why it's illegal.

They can't. They absolutely can not. I believe the govt. is in some form profiting from it while at the same time, so if Big Pharm. companies who have, according to this doc., over 1,200 lobbyists in DC. IMO, that's the biggest obstacle to overcome because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that these companies are funding these politician's personal bank and campaign accounts.

Grea doc btw, but I don't see marijuana becoming legal or decriminalized anytime soon in the US. I think the gvmnt has poured so much time, money and manpower into the war on drugs that they are too far past the point of no return

Which is the worst fricking "logic" ever. That's like sticking your arm into a hot oven, realizing it's hot, but then leaving it in there b/c you don't want to look like an idiot who stuck his arm into a hot oven in the first place.

Well, you'll know for certain if money is involved by the time you are 45 (if you are around my age, 27).

I can't name one person I've ever met that is against legalizing marijuana that is around my age. That goes for high school grads only, college grads, and every now newly minted lawyer I went to law school with. And I'd argue the vast majority either have never done it, did it very infrequently, or have quit because they are now professionals, so they aren't potheads.

I'd have to guess if they are our future politicians, and marijuana stays illegal, then money/special interests "changed" their mind.

Sounds like you have a firm grasp on our Gov't. Big Pharm, tobacco, corrections, and cops/DEA are some huge lobbying arms. It was a good doc, but sadly, not too revealing.

Im going to watch this soon. The director was a guest on the Joe Rogan Podcast the other day. Joe also said it was easily the best cannabis doc he'd ever seen.

The only people I know of who want it to stay illegal were all dealers. Seriously.

No one has ever, ever died from its direct use. A couple of years back on here a poster challenged me on the PT. He linked to six deaths attributed to it. One was a fireman who died in a fire started by grow lights. Another was a man involved in a wreck in which marijuana was in his system. Mos if not all were just deaths were a person had pot in their system, or they were deaths due to pot manufacture. ( A guy died by a vacuum sealer)

It's high wears off with no lasting effects, except for that it remains in your system for days.

Light use doesn't inhibit you. It can be smoked in a vaporizer with almost 0 tar. Or it can even be eaten for no tar. No tar then no possible lung cancer.

Its safer than Aspirin and Tylenol which combined are linked to over 2,000 deaths a year. Which coincidentally is more than Heroin or Cocaine.

It's stupid that it is illegal. There is NO reason it is illegal. Does anyone have a definitive answer why it is illegal?

Nixon?
Marijuana Tax Act of 1929?

??

(ETA solid documentary. Good subject. We won't see it legal in the south for at least a couple of decades, IMO)
