Looking at Mansurs, Flemings, Ruths, Ruffinos, Little Village, The Steakhouse (Hollywood Casino).
Which one for the best ribeye?

I'm a Ruth's fan, but I usually get the veal chop. However, I've seen the cowboy ribeye enthusiastically recommended a number of times on this board.

Oh dear God it was the best steak I have ever had.

If you got to Ruth's, ask for Ricky as a waiter. Young guy about 25. Very upbeat, but not overly intrusive. Always seems to appear when you want something and extremely accommodating. Kid loves his job and people, apparently. Had him twice and he added to the dining enjoyment.

Step up your game and go to Houma's House.

My roommate is a server there. She is not Ricky, obviously

I would say Flemings. I am not a huge fan of steaks that come out so hot that they sear your taste buds. JMHO.

Ruths or Flemings.
I prefer filet though but both have excellent ribeye as well.

I am! The steak usually cools off a few seconds after I cut it.

If ou are going to go somewhere that nice, I wouldn't get a ribeye. A filet or a strip will give you a much more enjoyable piece of meat in my opinion.
FTR, I cook ribeyes at home almost exclusively, I'm not a meat snob. You will just be able to appreciate the preparation a lot more with the other cuts of meat.
If you are dead set on a ribeye, go to Ruth's.
If you want to get a filet, go to Ruffino's.
If you want to get a steak with an original and unique appetizer, go to Stroube's.
If you want to get caught staring at hot waitresses, go to Sullivan's.

I've never once had that issue in the many times I've eaten at any Ruth's Chris. I order steaks medium rare, though, so the center is never that hot and I also let them rest a few minutes so the juices will stay in the steak.

Ruth's Chris, Lafayette, LA 4/17/2012. It was a cowboy ribeye medium rare. The plate and steak were so hot the melted butter was popping like water dropped in hot grease. I have been to Ruth's many times in both BR and Lafayette and this was by far this hottest I have ever had. I am partial to Flemings though.

The plates are 500 degrees. They tell you that when they put the steak down or they always tell me. Butter is always popping. That's part of the signature method of serving there. Not for everyone, but I love it. Steak is placed on the hot plate with the butter. I've never found it to be too hot to eat, though.

So, where did you go and how was it?
(I don't like it when people don't report back!)
