I put in at the end of island road and didn’t even wet a line. Drifted a half mile south and turned around. I had to paddle and peddle at the same time or I couldn’t make up any ground against the wind and current. Water visibility was maybe an inch. Pulled up to PAC rentals and there was at least 10 kayaks strapped up on trucks or trailers and it was only 8:30. One of the officers said they only heard one fish caught so far and it was an 18” redfish. I then headed toward Cocodrie and the water there was just as bad. Talked to two kayakers and they were heading back to BR. I was back in NOLA for 12. Not worth it

Everyone made it back ok. Trout challenge with zero trout weighed in. Think there was 2-3 reds weighed in for side pot.

Not too surprised. I saw on PAC's FB page that they had closed the launch.

Yep. I saw more kayaks getting towed back in than making it back on their own power. And saw a pontoon boat that got stranded close to the launch when it ran aground because water was so low

The forecast this Saturday doesn't look bad. I may give it a shot. I'll be working in LC tomorrow. If I have time I may swing by the launch and check the water level.

Please do. If you could check out the water clarity too that would be a huge help. If we don't have any water at our duck lease, I will most likely make a trip.

My biggest concern is that the water temp has dropped 14 degrees six days. But the weather is going to be really nice.

Last time I was there the water was dirty by the launch but clear by the channel.

I've always heard the water in Choupique tends to stay a little bit clearer than the main lake. Could just be the optimist in me though

That is if there is any water left in Choupique. Check out the gauge height in midlake

I launched at Theo’s as well at 5:45, water was low and dropping fast, and soooo muddy. By 10am I was burnt out and had no confidence a fish could even see my lure in that chocolate milk. Packed up and enjoyed PAC Shack food and beers for the rest of the afternoon. The misery wasn’t worth the $400 for me lol!

Do any of you guys have any experience with the Wilderness Systems yak livewell? I was thinking of adding this to my christmas list. My yak is a secondary fishing tool, but this seems like a really easy way to have live bait capabilities when I do take her out.

Anybody know of anyone good deals for Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I’m probably going to buy a boonedox landing gear and maybe more. I’ve seen ACK 10% off but would love to get a better discount than that.

I remember reading up on those a while back. They have a few minor things that needed improvement if I remember right. But people seemed to be overall impressed with them. I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much money on one.

Does anyone here own a Bonafide kayak? One of my coworkers is trying to get into kayaking and he’s been looking hard at one. So he got me looking at them too.

I ran across this limited model and I kinda want one. The SS127 Woodsman.

I love my Slayer 14.5, but that thing is big and clumsy and I’ve been considering downsizing for a little while now. I know everyone is all about peddling kayaks these days, but honestly I still kinda like paddling.

Just curious if anyone has any significant experience with one. All of the reviews are pretty glowing.

Are there any paddler's left? Lol. The pedals have definitely taken over
