Doug Glanville's experience at the Box...as written in the Advocate

Glanville wrote the following piece that appears in the Advocate today. Regardless of where you fall in the "should we be classy or not" debate, it is nice to hear an outsider's point of view.
The piece is well written...and as I suspected from hearing him on TV, he is a very intelligent guy.

But my trip to Baton Rouge allowed me to see firsthand that you can have a dominant program and have class, be welcoming, be humble and have fans who love good baseball so much that they can appreciate great performances — even if they have to stand up and applaud the team that broke their heart.

That is a great article and very well written. The article will already have two strikes against it from most rantards though. They complained about the commentators and they complained about our fans showing appreciation to SB.
I honestly do not give a shite what the motive was of the fans who stayed to congratulate Stony Brook. Even if they did it only to have articles like this written, it is nothing but a positive thing for LSU.

Well, of course we should be classy. Only a cretin would think otherwise. An article like this reflects more favorable light on LSU than a year's worth of Love Purple Live Gold ads.

Excellent article, showing the class of LSU's fans at Alex Box, the coaches, and players of both teams.

I don't think the issue is should we be classy or not.
The issue is more along the lines of "how sincere is it? Or is it just people like Guillot and K lady attention whoring wanting to feel good about themselves?"

Fantastic article. I'd never heard of Glanville before this series. I don't follow MLB. I was really impressed with his technical insight to the game as he did the color commentary, and I'm blown away by his writing. I hope to hear more from him in the future.
