6 Reasons why "Rock of Ages" won't suck

1) Julianne Hough - Never cared for her acting but I didn't care for Jessica Alba's either
2) Celina Beach - See Above
3) Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand together will be hilarious
4) Kevin Nash - Yes, THE Kevin Nash is in it
5) Malin Ackerman - Hot and Good actress
6) Tom Cruise REALLY sings. This guy continues to stick the middle finger to every hater out there and you gotta respect him for it.

And this has what to do with him being entertaining?
Answer: Nothing.

Nothing wrong with their personal choices, I still love their movies

Either you are old or aren't looking in the right places.
PS 80s Rock =
But I'd still go see it anyway depending on reviews.

Aside from anything Dave Grohl touched in the 90's or Green Day, what was great about 90's music?

Hearing Cruise sing pour some sugar on me in the previews is enough to avoid this movie. Dude sounded terrible

They stopped making hair metal.
The six reasons in the OP made me really not want to see this movie. From the ads, it seems they take horrible songs and somehow make them worse.

80s New Wave music and early 80s rock/pop is a lot better than the hair bands and late 80s music
...very disappointed in the "mainstream" 80s music they chose; the New Wave music and early 80s is a million times better and is what my parents listened to/what I grew up listening to as a kid in the 90s.

I would think only gay guys are going to be interested in seeing this movie since it's a musical

They really didn't have a choice in the matter. It's an adaptation of a Broadway musical.
And the movie is getting panned by critics on RT right now so I think it has a really good chance of sucking.

Yeah, that's true. But at the same time it disappoints me that they'd use the super cheesy late 80s era music
But yeah, I'm a woman and this movie reeks of cheesiness. 'Tommy Girl' is definitely like Travolta and lives in the $cientology closet. It seems like the next few weeks is going to be boring in terms of movie releases. I guess I'll go see AB: Vampire Hunter and Spiderman before TDKR comes out.

This movie is intriguing and Cruise is usually fantastic regardless of being a nutcase.
As far as music the 80's >>> 90's. Not necessarily because of hair metal, the decade just had it going on at the same time across every genre. Although I would add Smashing Pumpkins to any argument for the 90's.
The 80's wre the pinnacle of music IMO. It's been a downhill slide ever since.

Well...I'm a fan of the generic hair bands of the late-80s. Bands like Foreigner and Bon Jovi get my head rocking.

Just a reminder, once again, she's in it
