I wonder how much I get if I lay $5 on Tahiti winning the whole thing.

We've made the knockout stage in the last two WCs. That's top 16.

So I guess you were in a coma for 2006 or did you just block that disgrace out of your memory blocks?

That being said, I think we are right where we should be in terms of international competition. We are a middle of the pack team that has a shot at upsetting the big boys and making a run.

Considering where we were just 20 years ago, I think we are alright.

Is everyone freaking out here? No reason to freak out, the exact thing we expected happened.

Refs are shitty and we always give up too many chances to these teams when we're away. If we keep winning at home and drawing on the road, we qualify.

Yep, I'm content with the result. Getting a point in that hell hole is no small task.

It's mostly blaming CONCACAF for all the world's ills (admittedly they deserve blame for some of them ) and SecWEST saying that the U.S. isn't relevant because we're not as good as Brazil or something like that.

I was furious in certain points.

Jozy's goal being stopped due to lack of advantage.
Jozy stopping his run like a fricking retard.
The whole situation leading up to and Guatemala's goal.

Other than that, the game was just pretty dull. I'd like to see more width in our play but Central America sucks.

Not to mention the pitch was as slick as greased goose shite. Midget Guatemalans had better traction for some reason.

It's like Notre Dame keeping the grass long on purpose: They'll use every little bit of gamesmanship to make up for the fact that they suck.

Credit to them, it worked. Get those phuckstix on American soil though, and they're toast.

Caught the 2nd half and it was about all I could take of this ref. I know I should expect it, but it still pisses me off.

- our players the last 2 games literally get grabbed and pulled every single time they are on the ball. I understand we are faster and these guys arent as naturally athletic, but that doesnt mean you can let them constantly hang on us like that

- the no advantage call was complete horseshite. that is all

- WTF was Jozy doing on Landon's cross? Where was he? No excuse as to why he shouldn't be one step behind Landon that entire time

- the yellow on Bradley might have been the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen

- does anyone else fell that Landon needs to be more aggressive himself and start taking some of those shots instead of sending them across the box? There were 2 plays in the second half where he somewhat held up and let their D recover while trying to set up the cross instead of playing the even numbers we had and taking towards goal. Thoughts?

THIS. he wasn't aggressive, took no one on 1v1, etc.

Landon has been playing pretty bad lately.

His crosses are either ill-timed or off the mark and I just don't get a sense of aggressiveness when it comes to him attacking the final third and taking some shots. His decision making has been questionable....

Well he was lights out against Scotland. But ever since Deuce has been back it seems like he is trying to just be the set up man all the time. Hopefully we work this out.

at the meltdown.

Scraped out a point, on the road in Central America, with a known US hater like Joel Aguilar in the center?

:omg:

GTFO

Straight red for diving.

Jozy got lucky, IMO.

Attempting to stay onside because it was a tight line, I assume. Landon should have never sent that ball. He should have kept going to the end line.

I would blame Landon moreso, than Jozy.

I agree. I wasn't impressed with Landon all night long. I actually thought we played better than last week. Still not coming together in the final third that well though which is disappointing. Jones had an off night it seemed. Outside of the one bad foul Johnson played well, as did the rest of the back line I thought. Unlike some here, I have no problem with the way Edu plays. Duece and Gomez played well as did Bradley for the most part. Overall I am frustrated we didn't get 3 points because I felt like we deserved all 3 points, but a draw on the road is what you hope for.
