My brother just started playing since he was a kid and doesn't know the lingo yet. Pisses him off to no end when I correct him. I tell him it's for his own good for when he plays with people other than me so he doesn't look like an idiot.

Anyway, shot my lowest score late Saturday afternoon, and my lowest 9 on the back... 44-37 for 81. Finished birdie par birdie. Last three holes went like this... 16 is a 350ish par 4, bomb down the middle, pitched it to about 5 inches with the 58 degree, tap in birdie. 17 is a 215 yard par 3, 5 hybrid to the front edge, 2 putt for par. 18 is a 480 yard par 5. It's not long, but it's kind of tricky. I'm always happy with par here. Goes about 240 with a huge tree in the center of the fairway and dog legs up a pretty steep hill with a bunker in front. It's always the quickest green and funnels to the bottom. If the pin is on the high level you better hit an excellent approach. Of course, pin is on the top level. I blew it off the tee. Got under it and went about 200 yards right behind the tree, so I said frick it, hit a perfect low cut driver off the deck under the tree to right in front of the bunker on 18. Pretty sweet. It just kept rising with the hill. So I blow it again and hit the pitch too hard over the bunker past the hole into the fringe, left myself a tough down hill chip... Chipped that son of a bitch in with the 64 degree for birdie like a boss. I wanted to high five somebody and I was the only dip shite on the course.

tl;dr

Played three rounds in houston the past three days.

1st round - Wildcat Lakes - 82
2nd round - Redstone - Home of the Shell houston open - 92 at 7500 yds . Out with a 42 and in with a 50 (3 hour back 9 )
3rd round - Wildcat Lakes - 79

The golf courses in houston almost make me want to move there.

I played 7 of 8 before this past Sunday. The only day I missed was the last Sunday because of rain. Actually it may have been 8 of 9. I can't remember if I played two Fridays ago.

Was doing so bad I quit keeping score, but I did birdie a par 3 hole 16 that felt good.

Think I've had 5 lifetime birdies now.

78 and 83 over the weekend at Lake Caroline CC in Madison, MS. Putting continues to kill me. These two rounds I tried switching from a regular putter to a mallet, regular grip to a fat grip, and cross handed back to a regular. Still littered the greens with putts. Course was wet so they were slower, and I just never got a good grip on the speed. Front 9 both days was pretty bad(41-42), but was able to rally a little on the back, at least on the first round. On the second round I was +2 on the back going into par 5 16th. Was planning on starting my drive out over the lake that lines the right side and drawing it back to the fairway. Didn't get through the ball and pushed it right...into the windshield of a Lexus that was heading out of the neighborhood . Rest of the round was pretty much shot after that.

I'm a broke unemployed college student though so 6 of 7 is too much.

Shot 94 today. 10 strokes worse than my last round.. did play a more difficult course though.

Shot 44 on 9 yesterday. Hit the irons well and made some putts. I have one hole that was basically a round killer. If you looked at my card in bunches of 3 it would have looked ok. First 3 - 1 over. Last 3 - 1 over. Middle 3 - 6 over. I tripled 5 and double 6.

Going back today to see if I can beat those two holes.

76 at Audubon this morning, damned triple on #9. Finished just as the rains started and boy did it pour. Greens were in fantastic shape.

Just got done at LSU. It was hot as frick.

I shot an 88, my new low round. Took a tip that beaverPRO gave me earlier in the thread and it made my shots much better.

I hit 9 greens, unfortunately, I three putted 3 of them and the rest were 2 putts.

Lost 3 strokes to water balls on the front 9, but none on the back. Had two putts rim out most likely due to the high plastic cups people were talking about in another thread. All in all, great round.

If I hit the ball like I did today and improve my putting a bit, I can start going real low for myself.

Golf is a lot more fun when you don't lose balls.

Eta; 47 on front, 41 on back. I was +1 on the back until 16 17 and 18, where I went +5. frick those holes.

on 16 I hit 4 iron, 4 iron, wedge.

That hole sucks. The landing point for driver off the blue tee is the worst part of that fairway. Hit a 4 iron off the tee and take it out of play. Do the same on 17 and 18 if you have to. Try it next time.

I'm so jealous of you, I had to cool it on the golf because it's so goddamn expensive and I'm no OT baller. I play once a week now and go to the range one other time
