Super Regional Hitting Stats

We scored 8 runs in 3 games in this Super Regional.. 4 of those runs were solo home runs.
In the 3 game series we totaled 15 hits in 30 innings. In those 30 innings we only lead Stony Brook 1 inning.
Our best hitters went cold in the series
Austin Nola went 0 for 10
JaCoby Jones went 3 for 12
Mason Katz went 3 for 12
Raph Rhymes went 1 for 13
Ty Ross went 0 for for 10
Tyler Moore went 2 for 10
Tyler Hanover went 1 for 9
Of those 7 guys we went 10 for 76 or .131 batting average. Those 7 were 10 of our 15 hits.
Not only that but 2 of their pitchers went complete games against us.
I think a new hitting coach is needed. A team doesn't make it to a Super and throw that terrible of a performance.
Hats off to Stony Brook.. they are a good team..
Also I think a lot of the winning was us winning on talent alone, a lot of the coaching was mind blowing in some places all season.

Usually looking at 4 pitches before you swing literally every at bat will result in horrible hitting.

I don't care who you are, that's never going to get it done...

Has to be be one of the most shocking stats of the weekend.

I was very impressed with SB's hitters and plate approach but was far from impressed by their pitching. They didn't bring dominant stuff on the mound and we just bailed their guys out constantly and had a lot of bad misfortune as well hitting into big fouls or hard outs all weekend.

Are you referring to the point in the game on Friday where we attempted to steal 2nd late in the game down 2 runs?

First, I hate Cinderella and hope Stony Brook gets mauled in the CWS.
It just wasn't LSUs weekend. The statistics overall are comparable to other high profile programs. It will never be like it was; where LSU just nuts up when it has to. South Carolina is now like LSU was in the 90s.

As I posted right after the game in a thread that got buried down the board in a few minutes...
Subject: Jankowski (8) + Carmona (7) hits = LSU total hits in 3 games.
Post: That tells the whole story. Tigers just did not get it done. Congrats to Seawolves.

Not implying anything, but last night, I felt like a member of the crowd from "Eight Men Out".
That's how flabbergasted I was.
