re: Why is no one blaming the players for poor hitting?

They didnt chase bad pitches and when they had 2 strikes, anything close that they couldnt drive they fouled off. Ive never seen poise like that from top to bottom.
It was pretty impressive. I'm not sure that having a good eye at the plate is coached, although maybe it is. I'm wildly speculating here, but that seems to be a player by player thing.

I also thought after the 3 HR's on Friday that our entire lineup then thought we were HR hitting team. How many fly outs did we have yesterday. We stopped hitting our singles and started trying to hit HR's IMO.

Because this team lacks the cerebral part of batting, not just the talent part. They don't work counts. They swing at off-speed pitches on the corners with less than two strikes but take fastballs in the middle of the plate. They have precious little discipline and can't consitently execute some of the more basic fundamentals like bunting or putting the ball in play in given situations.
You expect to have these problems with an individual batter or even the whole team on a "bad day". But LSU batters consistently had these problems throughout the lineup. That indicates a coaching problem.

it seems like our hitters swing at a lot of first pitches no matter if it is a pitch they can hit or not. IMO that is the philosophy of the hitting coach and not the players. very aggravating to see them grounding out or hitting weak fly balls when there are runners on base. not sure what the numbers will show but it seemed like the others teams pitch counts were extremely lower than LSU's for the past two weekends.

Sorry this is a bit long, but you asked a question, so here you go:
Because the problems at the plate are not seen with just a few individual players. The problems are pervasive throughout the entire line-up and they have not been addressed at all, by this coaching staff. They cannot recognize pitches and are guessing most of the time, even against average pitchers. They appear to be clueless about the situation they are hitting in far too often, and both of these issues are the result of poor instruction/lack of instruction.
When your best hitter credits his hitting success to his coaches at LSU-E with no mention of his current coach, there is a huge problem. When Raph got hot at the beginning of the season and his average just kept going up and up, Mainieri even made a point of talking about the strategy used by the coach at LSU-E to turn him into a great singles hitter by changing his approach at the plate. Then you see him not only cool off, as was to be expected at some point, but go into a real slump with no signs of coming out of it, and there was no evidence of any intervention on Javi's part to help him.
Kids can't always tell exactly what they are doing wrong and thus can't really tweak things on their own. That is what Javi is being paid to do, and he has quite simply failed. He has failed LSU and most importantly he has failed these kids. It is way past time for him to go. Our players deserve a real hitting coach who will work with them to maximize their potential during their time at LSU.

Champions of the toughest conference in nation
Regional tournament winner:
it's obvious we have enough talent to win, i don't think the coaches did a good enough job getting the team mentally prepared, and this showed up at the plate and in the field.
Sometimes you don't play well on a certain weekend and you meet up with a really good team. I think SB will hit the ball well in CWS, but I think we made their pitching look way better than it really is.

The players are doing what the coach told them to do, or else they don't see the plate and are eventually asked to leave LSU.

Im sure it is a mixed bag. I did find it rather interesting that the pitch count going into the 7th inning last night was:
LSU 137
SB 87
When you get outhit 11-1 you are going to be sending a lot less people to the plate, and that is a big part of the difference..

It's America these days it's everywhere from the teacher is terrible cause she gave my baby an f, to always pointing the finger at somebody standing on the sidelines over the person on the field. The new America is now the home of excuses and pointing the finger, forget home of the brave I think he already has 75 pitches he may get hurt cause we raise pussies these days

My statement had nothing to do with hitting dumbass it had to do with the question that was asked why is no one blaming the players for poor hitting.

Stony Brook's strengths this weekend were LSU's weaknesses and it was glaring.
1-9 SB could bunt, hit for contact, force a deep pitch count, were smart base runners.
1-9 LSU looks like 6 year olds bunting the ball, have relatively little plate discipline, mediocre base running.
Those things show me it's coaching.

There's no excuse for not getting more than 3 hits off of SB's Sunday pitcher. His resume is far less superb than the ace that pitched Saturday. His record is now 4-3 compared to 11-1.
There shortstop and centerfielder did make some incredible catches though.
Rhymes shot down the 3rd base line was foul by maybe a foot.
LSU could not catch any breaks. SB is a solid team and they are peaking at the right time.

It happened with basically all 3 starting pitchers. Their three starters combined for something like 25 IP, 9 hits, 4 ER for the starts.

It's a team of hackers, not hitters. Jump on the first pitch and try to pull it. Pop ups, easy grounders. Watching SB was a definite contrast that showed the cerebral and teaching part of batting. It graphically highlighted the weakness in this LSU offense. Everything they did offensively was superior.

it's not the players fault... Maneri recruited them... his fault.
