I've been a long time lurker on this board (mainly because of the Fark Board and you ruining Oregon), but I'm finally making it to a game. But I happen to be rooting for the opposition. I will be going to the UW game and I was wondering where the visiting team/fans usually make their hotel location? I'm sure a van down by the river will be a popular answer, but I am ligitmately wondering. Thanks!!!

Any of the hotels on Airline Hwy in north Baton Rouge, preferably near Scotlandville (lots of people of Scottish descent live there) would be an ideal place to stay for a weekend....

Florida Boulevard

It's considered the perfect area to walk around at night.

Ignore some of these guy.

Try this one: real close to the campus --not sure if the teams stays here but its only abuot 3 miles from Tiger Stadium and LSU:

Staring Motel (225)766-5675. Enjoy.

Anything near Gardere is what I would recommend. All the amenities you could possibly desire, very safe location, and it's a really friendly neighborhood

Dang you guys are brutal this morning. Don't trust any information being given. These guys are being a$$holes. That being said, I have no idea which hotel your team will be staying at for the game. Sorry

If you're going to stay for the entire week I would recommend Crown Efficiency. Within walking distance to the Bellemont and, Dancers.

Just call UW's SID & they can tell you. I am sure the rooms are already booked.

Wow! Someone asks a legitimate question and there is a rush by the posters to be jerks.
I guess that's what adds value to this board. We need to demonstrate(again) to people what idiots we LSU fans are.
Huzzah!!!

There are two areas you want to concentrate on and both have been discussed. The I-10/College Dr. area and downtown. There are several nice hotels downtown. Either location is a short drive to campus.

A couple of other suggestions. Not sure if the Lod Cook Hotel would be booked for the UW game. I know its probably already sold out for all of the big SEC games, maybe all the games. It's right on campus, a nice walk to the Stadium. Also, there is a new casino opening down south of campus near the river, L'Auberge Baton Rouge. It's supposed to open this summer.

Good luck, safe travels, have fun. Come back a few weeks before the game & start a thread about what to do. Folks will give you some pointers on pre-gameday, gameday, & post-game day activities. You'll be invited to several tailgates. The main thing is to enjoy the game day atmosphere, wear your colors, cheer for your team, accept some (maybe a lot of) friendly abuse, don't be a dick, and people will feed you & drink you until you've had your fill. Then they'll feed you & drink you some more!

Any of the downtown hotels are good, but may be booked. A new one that just opened so it may not be on people's radar is Hotel Indigo. There's plenty of food drink options in the area and there are usually shuttles making to 2-3 mile drive to campus.

College drive area has a bunch of hotels so you can search that area as well. In particular; lots of new hotels on constitution ave.

If you lurked, I'm sure you expected the initial responses. Weed through the crap and you'll get good insight.

try the Hilton riverside OR Hotel Indigo. They are both downtown and I think the hilton does a shuttle to the stadium.
