Is 3D worth the extra money for this one?

Dude, see it in 3D. And, if you have an IMAX theater around you, go see it in IMAX 3D.

It was filmed completely with 3D cameras, so it looks really slick and not over the top like the Avengers was.

NEVER! Unless the movie is named Avatar, Hugo or Life of Pi.

I saw it 2D IMAX, no complaints here. Not a fan of 3D movies, but I guess it would be cool to see how it looks

Nope - because the movie is disappointing.

This from markasaurus in the Spoiler thread might help you decide

If anybody reading this wants $10 off of their 3D experience go to fandango app and enter code "KFC".

I'm anti-3D but I just got tickets for 3-D. I feel dirty. I'm officially now part of the problem!

post back if it's worth it. I'm debating this.

I only ever go 3-D for sci-fi, big explosions/action films.

I think no movie is worth watching in 3D, you can't savor the entire scene with all its' details in 3D. I think 3D is just awful and gives me a headache trying to concentrate, and no I have no eye problems that i am aware of.

The best 3-D wasn't even in the movie. It was the Imax 3-D countdown.

After that, it was barely noticeable through almost the whole movie. Yes there was more depth but it didn't seem like much of anything leapt off the screen. 100% money grab. It added zilch.

Not worth 3-D price.

Crazy talk. It was barely noticeable. Avengers was much better and Avatar makes it look like garbage.

I loved the movie but you wouldn't notice a thing if the 3-D was missing.

True but the whole holographic solar system scene as well as the silica storm was pretty cool in 3D IMHO
