i really think the guarantee is from Monty, after hearing all of the positive things monty said about him and by the way Austin was talking about New Orleans

I can see this. Rivers was clearly interested in playing alongside Davis.

i remember the celtics guaranteed Kendrick whatever his name was, the JUCO kid from Zachary committed to LSU. He was a huge fricking dud.

I think everyone in the draft not named Thomas Robinson is.

Its crazy how I said a long time ago about drafting Rivers on here and I got bashed, same thing with Harrison Barnes(pre us winning the lottery) watch Barnes be a monster in the NBA.

it seems strange that Monty would guarantee Rivers at 10...we don't know who will be available. Also, Monty also said he liked Moultrie a lot. We have Gordon. Not saying Rivers can't work as a sixth man or combo guard. It just seems strange to guarantee a player at 10 who is mostly projected later and plays the same position as the best player on the team

I'm a diehard Pistons fan...I can almost guarantee the promise is not from them. Not with Knight, Stuckey, Gordon.

Yeh, it ain't us. If he ends up being the selection then so be it. But I think Myers Leonard, Rivers, Lillard, PJ3, Zeller and a few others are all in play for us at 10. There is no way we have made a decision on 10 this early in the process.

don't know if you saw it or not, but I posted a few comments from Chad Ford yesterday on Leonard. Basically his stock rose a bunch during his time in Chicago. Has him pegged to go anywhere from 9-14 instead of 19 to Orlando in his latest 6.0 mock draft.

IMO, my top two choices right now are Lillard and Leonard at 10.

Yeah, he probably won't last long. Basically what I want from this draft id Davis, Rivers/Lillard, and a center which is why I'm referencing leanord and ezeli. I'll go watch highlights of ezeli now lol.

Basically with Gordon and lilliard/rivers and whomever that big is being young and growing together, is damned unstoppable.

Let's say the squad after this year is

Vasquez/Rivers or Lilliard
Gordon/Henry
Aminu/??
Davis/Ayon
Ezeli or Leanord/Smith/Oak

Young (mostly) squad growing and improving together will be great. Especially if Aminu pans out like he should that's how great they could be.

I'd much rather reach for a kid too early or trade back than take Rivers at 10. The kid's potential is sky-high, I don't dispute that, but the kid has a lot of maturing to do and is a cancer. That's not to say he can't change, but he's got a strong sense of entitlement.

Which is why I allow for that. I recognize he COULD change. His body language on the court and what I've seen of him around campus just gives me pause.

Perhaps my comment about Weber State wasn't necessary, but I just think his numbers stand out more because the competition in the Big Sky isn't like what it is in the ACC. I would much prefer a guy like Austin Rivers or Henson.
