WTF is this shite from the Oregonlive comments?

quote:

OSU had a far tougher road than the Ducks, for sure. But honestly, LSU's resume is one of the most unimpressive out of all the top seeds. Cool, they did well in the SEC. Cool, they played one of the worst OOC schedules and beat a bunch of terrible teams. They lost a series to App State at home and to Notre Dame at home as well. The only two decent teams all season. They're a good team, but a 7-seed? Not when many others are far more deserving.

As other posters have said, please stick around and post on the More Sports Board.

I'm a Beaver Believer when they're not playing LSU and we could use a couple more Northwest folks here on TD -- preferably Beaver fans. Got enough Duck fans here already...

The Oregon State University baseball team acquitted itself to a very high degree.

Agreed. But you'd think the back to back titles would have already earned a degree of respect for Pat Casey. Here's hoping the Beavs get to Omaha again soon.

Good job, Beavers. But next time we want to see shaved Beavers.

Those porn staches were terrible.

Best post of the thread.

I'm hoping that Oregon and LSU meet in Omaha this year. LSU will curbstomp the Ducks. That's something Beaver and Tiger fans will both thoroughly enjoy watching. All of Phil Knight's millions can't buy a national title in anything other than cross country or track.

Schultz hit Grant Dozar with a pitch, Alex Edward rolled a ball through Dunn's legs and Tyler Hanover's hot shot ricocheted off Dunn's glove -- his fourth booted ball of the night -- to allow the Tigers a run closer, 5-4.

That set up the ninth inning and that's when the voodoo or magic or whatever it was kicked in

Eerie.

Shades of Alexis Serna in the '04 football game and the voodoo hex on his extra point attempts.

Speaking of the Fark Board, what happened to beavfan83?

Love those gifs haha! The bottom one is great, haven't seen the top one yet!

Yeah, will drop in occasionally in the future for some OSU presence, great site.

Yes, please whip up on the quackers if you meet up, they've had a breeze of a regional. We swept them end of season so you guys should whoop up on them. Good luck going forward.

Sigh, yes I know. This one hurt bad, but that last Serna PAT was a huge punch in the gut, maybe being in the stands made it hurt more. We had a GREAT time down in 2004 (except for that ending).

Won the regular season SEC Championship...this guy is just plain stupid.

Not to mention, u only need to look at how many SEC teams are still in it to know how good this league is.

Sweet!

We've got to do something about Beaver Sports Central though. Is that really the best fan site out there for Beaver fans?

I thoroughly enjoyed the sweep of the Ducks.

Do you live here in Oregon? I live and work in Beaverton. My wife lived in Corvallis for a couple of years so I used to get down there quite a bit while we were dating. Corvallis really is a great town to live and work in if you can find a good paying job. Great quality of life and very friendly folks.

Especially in light of the great career Serna went on to have.

I was sand camping down near Coos Bay and didn't turn on the radio until the second half. Imagine my shock to find out the score.

Damn you, Nick Saban!

Coach Riley is a helluva class act -- old smashmouth football disciple of Bear Bryant. We had season tickets behind the OSU band for the entire '08 season at Reser. The atmosphere for that Thursday night game against USC almost made me feel like I was back home in the South. Quizz and the Beavers D in that game were en fuego. I think Bear Bryant would have been very proud of his former player that night. It was a very SEC-like display of rock solid defense and a smash mouth running game.

The OSU forums are spread out, so there's several but none as popular as this one. Pure Orange is active and has an older format (to say the least), the guy that runs it is a great guy, but it's not his full time job so doesn't have much time to update it, more of a hobby. The OSU rivals one is active on the paid part, but free forum is dead. Scout probably has the best free board. There's others but maybe Scout might be easiest to access for other schools.

Good to hear you're from Beaverton. I grew up in Portland but now in Seattle surrounded by purple, we try to get down to Corvallis for a couple games per year and those up here. OSU winning last 7 of 8 over both WA schools has made things easier up here for sure!

We ended up driving down to Corvallis a couple of years ago when LSU played UW in football. Yall have a beautiful campus. Reminded me a lot of Auburn but a lot nicer. We were able to get inside Reser and get some great pictures, and your baseball park seemed like it would be a fun atmosphere for a game. What do yall do when you have to go to UW for a baseball series? I would be worried about falling through those wooden rotting planks that they seem to think work for bleachers. Good luck next year and beat the ducks!

For OSU/UW baseball games up here, ever since the first 2006 Championship, they've had the Friday game at Safeco (Mariners ballpark) which is fun. There's a lot of OSU alums in Seattle area, so usually they get 10-14K in and first base side is orange, third base side purple. Fun setting. The Sat/Sun games are at the UW ballpark, which I agree, for a major university is an absolute joke of a ballpark! Believe it is getting renovated, UW really needs to support their baseball more esp with what has happened at OSU, uo is now good and Wash. St. is a solid program.

I did not know that.

Sounds nice. Might have to come check that out next season.

Been to a couple games at Husky Stadium (including the '09 game against LSU) and thoroughly enjoyed. U-Dub has a great campus and the view of Rainier is outta this world.

My brother and his family live in Pullman. It's a very nice town and their kids love it. It's just WAY out there. But you never have a problem getting tickets for Coug games these days.
