Came in most likely not even expecting to play in the game, and pretty much dominated us for most of the game.

It must have been a career night for him.

Thankfully LSU had the pitching to keep them in the game until Schultz ran out of gas.

I really don't like it when people complain about the officiating of a game with any sport......... but........

I was paying close attention to the strike zone and while I thought the ump was a little generous with that low-outside corner, he was giving it to Eades as well.

I thought the calls were consistant, Eades just didn't have the control Schultz did. Schultz was nailing that spot beautifully.

I don't know. While Eades was wilder the ump was giving the OSU pitcher the inside on breaking pitches and the outside on everything. That kind of zone makes it tough on a hitter because the zone was so big and anything within 10-12 inches of the plate could get you rung up at any time. Eades was struggling to throw breaking pitches in the zone so he was not getting quite the same benefits and when he did the calls were not as generous. Have to give Schultz credit for taking advantage if the ump was going to call the game this way.

I agree, Eades wasn't working the inside well enough to compare how the ump was calling them in there.

All in all, I didn't really have aproblem with the officiating.

Had the Tigers lost, I might be singing a different tune.

Shultz was a rock for most of the season, but last night he was special and kept OSU in the game. Schultz is just a Sophomore so hopefully we have him at least one more year!

I'm sure he's a nice kid and all, but it wouldn't bother me one bit if LSU never played against him ever again.
