We're a better team for playing UF every year.

I used to lament having to play them every year, but I've also come to believe it makes us better.

Add two more teams, split into divisions and play play another division each year. 7 game conference schedule(Gives you more home games), you play every school once every three years, and if you wanted to play a certain school every year(Bama/UT) you could schedule it in one of your open slots.

although i'm anti playing UF every year (unless we go to a 9 game sched but slive is opposed to this)i firmly believe without losing to them in '03, we don't tear up the rest of the year without that loss as a turning point.

A 6/3 rotation would be best ! Would do away with a "rent a win", for most SEC teams !

Our record vs Florida disagrees.

And none of that crap matters anyway. It is WRONG and STUPID for there to any cross division every year games. It is simply wrong and unfair to someone. It doesn't matter who. Point it it is NOT a level playing field. It without a doubt give an easier road the SEC championship game to whoever plays the traditionally weaker teams in the conf.

That is not up for debate it is simple common sense and math.

On top of all of that it also screws our (LSU) rivalries with all the other teams in the eastern division. Because we will only play them once in a blue moon. If all out of division games were rotated we would play each one much more frequently and it wouldn't be like playing a team from the big 10 or PAC ten.

Do away with the stupid cross division permanent games. If you think Alabama and Tenn. is so fricking important then this is the perfect time to put them in the same division. We are adding a and m and missouri. yet Missouri which is further west than almost every team in the entire SEC is going to the East.

Stop doing these stupid arse make the square peg fit the round hole. Bit the bullet and do what is right and fair and end cross conf. perm. opponents.

I don't think there should be a regular oppenant from the other division at all. Rotate all teams...you will eventually play each other..what's the big deal about rotating?...as it is, some schools have easier schedules because of the way it is set up now...

It's simple.

6-2

When UT and Bama don't play in conference they can schedule the game as a non-conference affair.

Bama still gets that all important game with the Vols.

If Vanderbilt was our permanent opponent, OP wouldn't be bitching about the "constant". WTF are you talking about anyway? It's like reading a moron talking in circles. WHO THE frick TALKS AND WRITES LIKE THAT? I've said that before to you, I think. You are an imbecile, btw.

I don't ever recall having any conversation with anyone even remotely close to having your handle. So frick off. Reading comprehension is your friend. I never said I wanted vandy as our permanent. I said I didn't want a permanent at all, but a 6-2 rotation that is equitable for everyone in the conference.

Recruits come here to play in big games and play for championships. You can have both. I like the gauntlet we have to go through to reach our objective. It's entertainment all year.

So playing UGA more often is going to collapse LSU because it's not a "big" game? Speaking of the imbecile.

Would we not be as good if we played UGA or Tenn or South Carolina more?

LSU would have went to the SEC Title Game 3 times in the 1990s if we didn't have an automatic loss from Spurrier's Gators. We had the best SEC West record 3 times and lost out because our permanent opponent was the Florida Gators.

It's also incredibly misleading.

In 1995, LSU only lost one game to a western division teams. We went 0-2-1 vs. the East including a loss to UK and a tie to USC, who both failed to finish 500. Had LSU beaten Florida, we would have finished 5-2-1 in the conference... still behind Arkansas at 6-2.

In 1996, LSU went 4-1 vs. the West but lost to Florida. We also lost to Alabama by 26 points. Bama's only other loss was to Tennessee. They also went 4-1 in the West and won the tiebreaker on the head to head result.

In 1997, LSU lost two games in the West and lost the tiebreaker to Auburn. We beat Florida.

Those were the only three seasons in the 1990s LSU was in the title race, even remotely. Florida cost LSU exactly zero SEC West titles in the 1990s.

Did UF play Arkansas in 1995, Alabama in 1996, or Auburn in 1997? I honestly don't know. For purposes of this question, this really doesn't matter to me in the first place. I like playing UF, but I like the opportunity to make the conference title more. I think a rotating schedules is more equitable for all involved, allows equal playing field as much as we can have in a large conference, and if both teams don't play and happen to be the best, they will play in the title game.

I just don't understand why a rotation, from our fan's perspective is so bad. The best argument was some guy talking about the cost of tickets and liking the known commodity of UF every other year on the schedule. I can understand that. I disagree, but I think the argument is sound.

I don't think your argument, Baloo, that it is logical or fair makes any sense though. JMO.
