age group is 26-30, group of 10-15ish

preferably somewhere with convenient parking

somewhere with drinks beyond beer and highballs, but without the pretentiousness of a place like Cure

somewhere with food is a bonus, but not a necessity

Oak? Kind of pretentious. Maybe just go to DBA?

Take a cab if you're going out drinking.

yeah, I don't find Monkey Hill to be that pretentious. Oak is a decent option.

Off topic but I just want to reiterate that I hate Alabama fans in New Orleans.

I live right next to those gumps. Wish they would go home.

Tommy's bar is a good idea.

Maurepas in the Bywater has a great bar (with craft cocktails) and unreal, tapas style food offerings. Parking is not an issue, but you should cab or designate driver. Also, you're not that far from Vaughan's so if you are going tonight, Kermit Ruffins has his weekly gig there.

They do big tables at Domenica, and then you could walk down to the Sazerac. Cool building to be in, big giant high ceilings and an actual bar in the restaurant for those that may not want to sit down after work.

I did my birthday on the back deck at Bayou Beer Garden and it was awesome. They will let you go early and reserve your tables and put balloons and stuff out there. And even though they serve food, they are perfectly fine with you bringing food. I ended up bringing a couple of things and then ordered two big platters of assorted party foods (wings, cheese sticks, etc.)

Rusty Nail is a great suggestion too.
