Passed by it on my way to Company Burger the other day. They have a big patio with a lot of painted furniture.
Any good?
TIA

I heard they like totally sold out with their new building and raised prices

Can we please start the price debate again? I went in there the other day because Company Burger was closed and it was $12 for a sausage, fries, and a coke. And to top it off they still don't take credit cards. Surely they can afford the 30 cent credit card fee as they charge $7.25 for a sausage. I will still eat there every once in a while because it's pretty good and I'm a red-blooded hot-dog loving American and the location is convenient for me, but less so than before.

New buildings don't pay for themselves ..
He'll I wish they would double their prices .. That maybe less people would go and I would not have to wait in enormous lines ..

I don't see how their employees could stand working in the old building during the summer. A small aluminum box with no AC, running hot grills in the middle of South LA summer.

I just don't see where this is terribly high. It might be on the upper end but certainly not out of line.

I've had the hot sausage, German beat, standard dog. The bun is awesome, but large, and you get unlimited toppings. They also have pretty good chili cheese fries.

I don't think I'm ballin at $12.00. I think a lot of people just like to bitch about what something costs and have no clue what it takes to get to that price point.
And then out of the other side of their mouth they will complain about the chains and how we need more local mom and pop places.
The cost of:
Sausage, bread, potatoes, soft drink, cup, hot dog holder, condiments, utilities, labor, labor burden (which includes workers com' state and federal taxes) general liability insurance, rent ( or mortgage) fuel, advertising, general maintenance and cleaning and a few other items I'm forgetting...
All come to the $12.00 price tag. Put a real number on it and the profit margin of that combo meal is not making a hot dog stand owner rich by any stretch of the imagination.
And then out of the other side of their mouth they will complain about the chains and how we need more local mom and pop places.

Agree 100%!
Plus, being out here in SF that quality of a hot dog + fries + a coke would be more than $12 for sure.

I'm not an idiot. I know exactly what goes in to running a business. I just think $12 for a sausage lunch is a little high, especially when you don't take credit cards. That's borderline stadium prices.

Well you asked to start the price discussion so I'm discussing. I don't think credit cards matter one way or another.
$5.00 for a hot dog, $6.00 for a sausage, $3.00 for fries so I'm guessing two bucks for a drink plus tax will get you around $12.00
For a very good lunch. I don't get the complaint. You get a good meal for that. You want cheap hit Exxon on the Run 2 for 2 dollars. Then compare.
I just don't think you do understand what it costs. I do. I pay all of the associated costs listed in my previous post for all of my businesses and THEN I get to see if any is left for me.
If you know exactly what goes in to running a business you would not have brought up a complaint about a twelve dollar mom and pop, local owned GOOD meal.
Be realistic.

If I want cheap, I'll could buy a pack of sausage, potatoes, and buns for $12 and eat 5 meals off of it.
I understand what they have to pay for. Do you think an 8" link of sausage costs $7?
That's an incredibly high markup. As well as $2 for a 12oz can of soda.
I mean if they made their own sausage maybe I'd give them more credit. Maybe you could justify the price at that point. I don't think you can justify the price by saying they have to pay for things. In this economy it has to make sense to the buyer.

I think it's a fair price for that quality meal. And it's a deal when compared to places like Subway. These aren't your run of the mill hot dogs.
