I wish you would not show so much emotion about baseball players...

who will never come here. Joey Gallo is not coming here...unless he gets injured and his draft stock falls. I wish you would focus your love on the boys who will come here. Louisiana boys have a different view of LSU than those outside the state. I know for a fact that it costs a major league team more money to pull a player away from LSU. Recruits know that, too. If a recruit wants high dollars, he should pick LSU.
On the other hand, if Joey were from Baton Rouge, things could be different. You would at least have a shot. However, if a recruit is not from Louisiana, he is going to take the big money. There is no loyalty and no knowledge from those recruits about what they will be missing.
Our school is used as a tool to get more money by some players. Don't you think it is not! This is the number one program in the country and scouts know they have to pay big money to pull a player away.
If you followed the draft, you would know that in almost every case, our recruits are drafted lower than projected or not drafted at all, because they know it will take alot of money to pull a kid away from LSU. By dropping them in the draft, they can still offer them the high money, but if the recruit doesn't come, they don't lose the higher draft pick.
Joey is not coming here unless he gets injured and his stock goes down. There is nothing wrong with hoping he comes here, but I really wish you wouldn't write about it. It is going to be near impossible for a boy that is not home grown to turn down 1st round money.
And, when he doesn't come here next August 15th, I hope you won't whine about the loss as though he was ever a possibility.

Your insight into LSU baseball is priceless.

Who is the "you" in OP's thread title?

First of all, what prompted this thread? I don't think anyone is showing alot of emotion about a high school recruit that most of us think won't be here anyway.
Secondly, you apparently aren't familiar with the recent rule changes. Teams won't be able to overpay, it'll be more slotted money.

We got some "my cousin vinny" quotes in. I'd say it's a success.
