Dunham over Episcopal yesterday 6-5.
St. Michael and Lutcher host games today in 4A.
5A BR-area teams to watch: Dutchtown, St. Amant, Catholic, Denham Springs. 5A playoffs start next week.

Hey watch out for VC. They are the 2-seed in 1A and have beaten some big schools this yr

Episcopal was very weak this year. That program has droped bad.
VC is tough.
Locally, DS is not real impressive to me. St Amant is erratic, their matchups will be key. Dutchtown is pretty decent. I don't see any of those making it to the final weekend though.
Parkview is my pick for a championship. If those guys play the way they have all year, I can't see anyone in 3A beating them.

Parkview
Livonia beat them in the championship game last year and returns 8 starters from last years championship team, including their entire pitching rotation. Don't sleep on them repeating

Why is there a delay in the 5A brackets compared to everything else?

That's fine. I'm still putting my nickel on Parkview. Just my opinion.

The 5A state tourney is quarters, semis, and finals at one site. 4A and below the state tourney is just semis and finals at one site. So 5A shifts their regular season back a few days since their playoffs don't take as long.
On Parkview/Livonia - Livonia has the pitching to hold Parkview down, but I don't think Livonia can score on Parkview's lefty. Maybe they can scratch a run or 2. I'd say PBS wins 5-1 if I had to guess now.

Teurlings and St. Michael in the second round will be a good one.

In the 5A bracket, I'm picking Sam Houston (unless Zachary gets back in, then that's a wrench). Zachary is on fire but I think they've had a ton of emotion to help. If they appeal and the ban is lifted (hope not), I could very well see a let down, but then who knows with them.

BR-area teams
St. Michael, Lutcher advance in 4A
Runnels wins in 2A
Did anyone else play?

Zachary, Barbe, Byrd that's my top 3 for 5a. Although at the HS level anything is possible.

5A
My favs are Jesuit/Barbe/Lafayette/Byrd
Zachary will fold and not enough hitting
Parkview is a good pick for 3A with that 1-2 pitching punch they have. St. Charles is VERY good as well (beaten many 5A schools).
