Beckwith has stated, he likes the 4-3. He likes to stand up. He said he noticed looking at film, that Upchurch had his hand in the ground a lot. Of course he says LSU and Bama are his tops, but his options are still open and he would like to see other schools. Believe me, all these kids already know where they are going, but taking all these free trips are fun. So if a kid wants to travel the states, the magic phrase is. "I'm keeping my options open, I want to see other schools" Beckwith will commit and sign with LSU.

This is the most accurate post in this thread about where things are with Tim. I do know that there are representatives from various colleges at U-High every single afternoon, and their real Spring practices haven't even started yet.

I liked the post of Like G. Maybe some of us should put ourselves in Tim's place--wouldn't it be great to make school paid trips to out of state locations? Also, he is not obligated to rush into a commitment with LSU or anyone else.

It seems like LSU is slightly ahead now, so that will have to satisfy the Ranters.

Tim is taking his whole recruiting process slow right now. He wants to make the right choice for him and his family. He doesn't want to be another big recruit that makes a commitment and later changes his mind. As he's said in the past LSU will always be on his list no matter if it's a list of 10 schools or 2. He knows how great it would be to play here in front of his family and friends and has a lot of respect for Coach Miles, the entire LSU staff, and LSU as a whole. He wants to keep his options open and make the right move. I would say right now LSU is the leader with Florida State, USC, Bama, and Miami towards the back. Don't count out any of those schools although in the end I think he will end up at LSU.

Really nice info.

Man, LSU as a program just dominates Miami right now and for the foreseeable future. All you need to do is look at the NFL draft.

I agree, but I am hearing that he has always loved Miami and they were at U High last week with Burns from Bama to see him and they also "bumped" into Nick Brossette.

This. He loves the "swagger" that Miami brings. He talks about Miami a lot. Dont count Florida State out either, but like I said he is very very open right now. And yes it may mean nothing but there are new recruiters from from all over at Uhigh everyday. Cal, Nebraska, TCU, Houston, etc.

Thanks for the info. Miami hasn't had "swagger" in years. They've been very mediocre the last 6 plus years. One 9 win season in that stretch. And in the ACC. I guess their prowess from the 90's remains though.

LSU's swag beat the crap out of Miami's swag six years ago in the tunnel of the Georgia dome.

Miami will also get pounded by the NCAA if the NCAA does their job. Not concerned with Miami. As far as FSu, has he seen the depth chart there? Not saying he's scared of competition but sometimes logic just takes over. Go to FSU with 7-8 other guys already on campus and sit for 2 years or go to LSU with really only 2 legit threats on campus(Hunter,Rasco) and play right away. Again logic.

Very true. It's rare that a program in LSU's position would present an opportunity for such immediate playing time but that is exactly the situation our DE and DT recruits will be in if they come here.

Ed Orgeron was at Uhigh yesterday talking to Tim and Mahaffey. Anyone know who else he is recruiting down here? Can't imagine he would come for one player
