Charlie Leonard appears like he is coming as well.

Shawn Forrest confirmed late Thursday night that he is leaving UNT to join the staff at LSU under Johnny Jones.
Another source said that Charlie Leonard has also packed up his office at the Super Pit and is headed to Baton Rouge.
Leonard was Jones' right-hand man while he built UNT up from the ashes. Forrest is Jones ace recruiter and the man who opened the pipeline to Dallas-Fort Worth for the Mean Green.

Thanks for the update, Bubba. I guess no news yet on the post player that signed with UNT?

With the talent that's in the DFW area, bringing Forrest with him is a "GREAT" move.

would rather be able to recruit LA and NOLA. hopefully Jones himself is able to do that

NUTS...I wanted UNT's AD to promote Forest to UNT Head Coach!!! I have a lot of respect for our AD, but RV screwed up on this one!!!
The LSU nation just pulled a coaches Hat trick. I know y'all are suspect of coach's that don't have a Rolls Royce, or Bentley name associated to their resume's, but rest assured Johnny Jones assistants are "Money"!!!
This is a kick in the nuts to the UNT nation, but RV our AD could have stopped some of the bleeding, but he didn't. RV thinks he's wearing fancy pants and wants his own "big name" splash of a coach. All because RV just hired Wake Forest's Women's BB coach away from the ACC.
Darn...rats...nuts, I'm proud of JJ for rewarding his assistant coach's with better paying jobs for all the hard work they put in at UNT. This situation is kicking UNT BB in the nuts, and I have so much respect for JJ that all I can say to him is thanks for what you built at UNT and best of luck at LSU!!!
I hope the LSU nation knows how lucky y'all are with JJ's hiring and the assistance he's bringing with him. UNT lost our Director of BB operations...coach Luster. I hope he's making the trip to LSU.
JJ's going to make y'all proud soon enough. JJ just wins. Just like Timex keeps on ticking, JJ keeps on winning!

Let me be the first to say "Welcome Coach Forrest!"

So is this guy bringing a big with him?

Where did the rumor get started that JJ was going to bring our JUCO transfer Center "Odoh" to LSU. The only player JJ might be able to bring over is 6'7" Swingman Justin Patton, but I doubt Patton could even play at LSU. Patton was a transfer to UNT from Grambling, but had grade and eligibility issues. Patton's a good player so not say he couldn't play at LSU based on talent. Past that as far as I know all of our other players are locked up on scholarship unless they want to sit out a year. If they do that then they miss their year to play with Tony Mitchell before he turns PRO!!!

We can finally make our presence felt in texas

This trio did a good job of recruiting for UNT. Give them a name like LSU and some underdog players here and there mixed in with kids who work hard no matter what, and in three years this program can be back in deep contention every season.

If Johnny Jones can lock down the LA talent and these assistants grab a Dallas-FW area kid every year or two we will be in very good shape for the future.

Forrest sounds good, but Leonard seems pretty underwhelming if he's anymore than an admin, especially when you consider the money LSU was willing to spend on assistants

I'm SO excited! We have the entire staff in place that was able to occasionally make a run at the Sun Belt crown. Yee Haw.
