I wish I could play more often, but it's hard to get enough people to go at once

There are pick up games frequently in the afternoon either outside the natatorium or at the parade grounds. Facebook group entitled "LSU Pick Up Soccer" that organizes it all.

30 years ago there were pickup games on the Parade Grounds each Sat and Sunday. All foreign students except me and my friend from Hattiesburg. Do they still do this?

And are tearing up the only semi-nice fields in Baton Rouge. Wish those guys would go to Indy.

I agree. I wish they would close off the fields and only use them for legit games. Half the fields at Burbank are dirt in the middles of the field so all passes and touches are unpredictable

That's what's posted. People don't follow directions.

Better for 500 people to use ok fields than 100 people to use good fields IMO.

God I hope not. We're already not allowed to use the Sports Complex fields, which we pay for, except for intramural games. The only place with goals in the area is either burbank or one other field on a freaking hill 20 minutes from campus at highland park. Burbank has over 40 public fields if you want to close off 5 or 10 then fine, but no way should all of them be closed off all the time.

new Premier indoor soccer facility down Nicholson is badass. really fun. I'm in a league right now and it's like $70 to play a season with 8 guaranteed games and a playoff. games are 50 min straight.

Of about 35 which are used at the same time during major tournaments.

But some pug goals if you want to play pickup all the time. Let's keep what we have nice ... for legit games.

What?

And just no. If nice fields are that important to the people who want them, they can pay for some.

Jeauxbleaux, I used to go to those games with my dad when I was young, probably 18 - 20 years ago. This is how I learned the game. It was awesome. Had middle eastern, African, and Caribbean players out there with their own style. There used to be 3 11v11 games with the barricades as goals. I can't tell you how often a fight would break out but in the end everyone was friends because they would all show up the next day to play. Great times.

I have been playing at Burbank for years, and its easily one of the worst complexes in the state.

People need go tear up indys fields since those are crap and unimportant.
