Did LSU receive any postseason ban as the result of Lester Earl scandal?

The team was terrible regardless those first two Brady seasons but his third year was Stromile and Jabari and the Sweet 16.
Did the team get a postseason ban or just slashed scholarships?

LSU is still feeling the effects of the Lester Earl probation. probably one of the worse probations I have seen in basketball in relation to the infraction The NCAA made an example out of LSU and got back at daddy dale.

Which baffled me when we hired Jones.

And yet the sunshine pumpers don't think this will cause the NCAA to start nosing around the program.

I support the guy now that he is the coach, but I am still surprised it happened. I thought for sure there was no way they were bring him back.

Jones was cleared by the NCAA's investigation of having no involvement in the Lester Jones debacle. The perception remains that Jones was a part of it but the NCAA found differently.

Initially LSU was issued a postseason ban. But it was waived by the NCAA and LSU was allowed to participate in the SEC tournament. They lost the 1st game and that was that. They weren't good enough for any of the other tournaments.

why? You actually think LSU is still on the same level and perception nationally during Dale's tenure. The program never truly came full circle. Brady had two decent runs and thank Tyrus for one of them who was literally a "diamond in the rough" The fanbase has totally went ampathatic in the last 20 years. if you don't think so, go the PMAC for a game. The longterm effects of that probation had crippling effects on the program.

I think it was three years of self imposed sanctions to then be followed by three more NCAA sanctions. I think it was a total of 6 scholarships as well. The NCAA set out to destroy our program as retaliation against Dale Brown being outspoken about the hypocrisy of the NCAA.
Dale Brown was right.
Roy Williams who was then at Kansas was very much responsible for all of it. He is a cowardly piece of shite.

two bad coaches who did nothing to generate fan interest and had 3 bad years for every good year won't get fans scooping up season tickets. any problems that happened past the first 4 or 5 years of brady's tenure can not be blamed on probation.

quote:That depends on your perspective. While it is true that we would not be in the current situation had we not reacted so poorly to the effects of the probation, it also remains true that the probation itself was the original cause. The NCAA did indeed put us in this hole, but we could certainly have dug ourselves out of it by now.

Roy Williams....what a garbage can. That A-Hole actually signed that punk to a Kansas scholy after he threw Dale and Johnny under the bus with lies.

You think that LSU still feels that probation, and you INSIST you aren't being negative.

LSU is going to be successful with JJ, and there's nothing that the emperor of Negatigerland can do about it.

The LSU fans have let bygones be bygones with roy williams...we let him come to new orleans to play in the NCAA tourney without murdering him...and if college basketball is "just" a game, then why would it matter how many years Lester Earl was allowed eligibility wise dependent on the words that came out of his mouth. Sounds like the NCAA thinks college basketball is "more" than just a game.
