Anyone think some people take food maybe a little too seriously here?

Certainly all the regular posters are all enthusiasts to an extent and enjoy good food
But some of you people are just ridiculous
Food isn't the only thing in life

Not particularly, no.
I just think people have an obsession at times. Particularly with things that are completely imagined.

Maybe not on the lines of people taking food too seriously but this board is very predictable when it comes to food.

Hmm I guess my biggest problem is people who get preachy about "sustainability" which is kinda funny since the whole movement isn't about sustaining anything other than their own sense of self worth. It's one of those phrases in the lexicon of modern culture which means the exact opposite of what it says. It's for idiots.

I'm eating Chilean Sea Bass as we speak.
Flock sustainability.
Flock sustainability.

I see both sides. But, I get where you are coming from.

Moi? Perish the thought.
Probably, but I prefer that to the 'food is just fuel' or the meat and potato or the fast food types.

Who has been posting about that?

Whenever people start preaching from a moral pulpit of self proclaimed superiority, they can frick off.

So you don't believe in over-fishing?
Also,from Wiki:
quote:
For humans, sustainability is the long-term maintenance of responsibility, which has environmental, economic, and social dimensions, and encompasses the concept of stewardship, the responsible management of resource use.
So how exactly does it mean the "exact opposite" of what it is??
I think you just got your panties in a wad and feel like bitching about something.
And yes I do think that sustainability is a good thing. And yes I buy local, organic, and free-range products most of the time. I also prefer wild-caught seafood over farm-raised.

And uh, how is this sermon on what is right and wrong differnt in superiority?
You have an opinion. Goood, we all do.
It'a food board, and so food is important to people who post here. Politics is important to the PT regulars, sports to the Ranters, which BTW is an ironic nickname given the subject matter you've introduced here, and gaming to the gamers.
I personally also enjoy water, air, football, music, and many other things, but food is an important part of my life, and being like tenth generation Louisianian, it's strange I have to validate that reasoning to another Louisianian.

Because I don't care if you want to eat organic food?

Yes.
Some days this board gets on my fricking nerves.
